You can have different opinions on what is happening with Cuba right now but you don’t get your own facts about history. This history is accurate. The Cuban exiles that relocated to Miami were the henchmen and elites that knew their turn had come to be treated like they had treated their fellow countrymen and got the hell out of dodge. They weren’t poor victims of a revolution, they were fat cats that got overrun by pissed off ppl. They have shaped the politics of South Florida ever since and every governor has paid homage to them. They all gave aid and comfort to the CIA, Batista, mafia, narco terrorists, assassins and many got rich off of it
quote:
Prof Zenkus: Dictator Batista's government troops attacked peasant villages, burned down farmers' homes and destroyed their crops. The army executed a campaigned of bombing the countryside and evacuating whole villages. Anyone who dared to stay behind was labeled a traitor and subject to torture and execution.
All this was happening in the background while rich Americans used Cuba as their playground. The Mob ran the casinos and brothels, drawing movie stars, pop singers and rich businessmen who spent and gambled away their money, which went directly into the pockets of the American Mafia and dictator Fulgencio Batista, who personally raked in millions of dollars a year as his cut of mob activities.
In return, Batista made mobster Meyer Lansky minister of gambling for Cuba and gave him free reign of the island.
Cuba touted itself as the richest economy in the Caribbean in the 1950s, but none of that money went to the peasants, many of whom were literally starving in the countryside.
Meanwhile, notable Americans such as JFK and Sinatra were traveling to the island to take advantage of private orgies set up for them by the mob. The women and girls were provided courtesy of the Mafia, who controlled the human trafficking rings that complimented their gambling empire.
All the while, Batista was allowing Cuba to be used as a hub for international drug smuggling to move heroin into the United States.
Through narcotics trafficking alone, Cuba was more of a threat to the US under Batista than it ever was under Fidel or Raul Castro.
When the Cuban people had finally had enough, they deposed their dictator and chased him and his thugs away. The response of the US to Cuba's revolution was to enact an embargo, attempting to strangle its economy for the past 60+ years.

Those peasants have definitely been better off under Castro.

With communists, expect lies.
Neither you nor I know the whole accurate story of pre-revolution Cuba, but communists NEVER tell the truth.

Cuba traded one set of mobsters for a set that was much worse.

When socialists take over, everyone is a slave to the collective, and hence, a victim. OP can frick off and die with all the other socialists.

While there may be some truth to that, the outcome of the cycle of communism is clear. The commies and progressives in the US are enamored with the romanticism of revolution…and ignore what the end result inevitably turns out to be. Complete shite.

True...I believe Rubio knows and that's why Trump is intervening on behalf of the cuban people. There are those that have settled in Florida that need to be sent back.

Every system eventually gets abused and corrupted. We are no different. The Castro communist government is no different. a handful of his friends pocketed all the money and the poor are still poor. All the people who left communist cuba left for a reason. they were fleeing a corrupt communist system for a better life. Castro did the same thing to his detractors that Batista did.

It’s kinda easy to research pre-revolution Cuba… yes some(not all)exiles from Cuba contributed to the terror under Batista… common sense should tell you this… that’s with all people … usually the ones in another country complaining about the leadership in their home country have been ran out for a variety of crimes against the people… sort of like the Iranians over here who prospered under the Shah

They both have their own opinions, what caught my attention is the exiles that have moved to Florida that were part of keeping cubans enslaved.
Rubio just arrested "Adys Lastres Morera is the sister of the Executive President of GAESA, the Cuban military-controlled financial conglomerate that steals millions in aid for the Cuban people at the behest of the regime.
Morera was managing real estate assets and living in Florida, while also aiding Havana's communist regime, until I terminated her permanent resident status.
I am pleased to announce that today, she was arrested and is now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement."
This is what I want to see more of.

This sheds a little more light on the topic. Your post is true, but incomplete.

Most of what she said is true.
It’s also true that the communist regime in Cuba has been far worse and has been aligned with anti-American interests globally for generations.
I’m fine with flipping that islands leadership if it can be done without an invasion and the resulting outcome triggers a pro-American government better than Bautista and the commies for the people.
Cuba is incredibly beautiful, it should be one of the tourism gems of the western hemisphere and with American investment will be again so that their economy thrives. That will never happen with the status quo.

Cuba is still owned by the aristocracy and is the true reason American citizens are denied access there.

The US was and is the only country in the world that placed an embargo on Cuba.
Every other country has open trade relations with Cuba. Russia, China, EU, Canada, etc., all were welcome to establish any relationship they deemed beneficial.
The problem was Castro and their communists form of government. Since his takeover, there has been practically no investment, minimal trade, and no economy to build.
Their misery falls squarely on Fidel Castro.

The same way that Vince McMahon put his daughter Stephany in Charge of the WWE is the same way Fidel Castro was installed as Dictator.

Exactly. All systems go through cycles.

We actually do. It was one of the most corrupt places in the world.

How exactly would he know?
He was not alive.
