The priority is simply indoctrination and brainwashing.

They want to keep them stupid. The more ignorant they are, the more likely they are to vote for Democrats.

This is how you control people. You can't allow them to see the truth - in this case, weak academic performance typically leads to financial instability in adulthood. This is a condition that can be self-corrected. Rather, we tell them that financial instability is the fault of white oppressors. This condition is out of the span of the minority's control, therefore striving to improve your lot in life is futile. Anger and jealousy cloud judgement and voters hand more power over to like-minded politicians who they see as allies. Government solutions like welfare becomes your only hope.

Its a shame that those who claim to be "woke" are the one truly asleep.

If you were a shitty teacher and you had the option of:

1) trying to teach kids (who may be without parental/community support) a classical education, such that when they aren't successful you're held responsible, or

2) teaching them how to awaken their critical consciousness so they learn them not being able to do arithmetic is oppression, and you and they reaching this conclusion (without actually learning the arithmetic) is considered a complete pedagogical success
