Did we get anything accomplished with this bill?
It looks exactly like last years budget -with a slight increase.?

Explain it to me like I am the uneducated high school boomer that I am. Budget Info website

Did Congress just waste another 9 months of our lives?

Yes and Yes. We kicked the can down the road again but after getting past this obstacle it frees up Congress to focus on putting together and passing Trump's legislative agenda.

Agreed, some people are having a difficult time accepting that it’s too late for our country

Yes, we kicked the can down the road again. We should give up on Trump and Vance 2 months into their term. They will never give us anything we want. Trump is the only president to make any moves to reduce the federal government but since he hasn't done it in 2 months, all hope is lost. We should just kill ourselves because nothing will ever change. No wait, it's already too late. I hear the trumpets now. The CR has brought on the end times. I can see the horsemen in the distance. We're all doomed. Grab a helmet. Every man for himself. See you in Valhalla.

The federal fiscal year runs from Oct. 1 through Sep. 30. We are currently about half way through the year. It's too late to come up with a budget for this year, and there's a LOT of work to be done on next year's budget. So I'm not against buying some time through a CR so that the government can stay operating normally, and legislators can get down to the business of cutting the budget instead of wasting time bickering over who shut down the government. Personally, I would've preferred no increase at all.

The whole key is to come up with a budget schedule, and have it approved, by Sep. 30 that balances the budget by FY 2029. That's my hope, anyway. I feel like we've got as good a chance as any to get this done this year. There's no time for squabbling.

House doesn't have enough support to pass a budget this far into the fiscal year. Republicans like Thomas Massie will automatically vote No with Schumer and most of the Democrats. Speaker Johnson has to compromise with the Democrat moderates, otherwise the government will be shutdown.

GOP has tried to government shutdown approach before, and all that does is play into the hands of the Democrats, which is to delay passing of GOP bills until the GOP loses the House in the midterms.

RINO reasoning #compromise

This was called being a RINO under Biden. Why the switch now?
