The following is from WWL-TV's website.
Beaudette’s attorney, Joseph Raspanti, is criticizing the investigation.
“He had nothing to do with it. He was in proximity a couple of minutes after the event,”
Raspanti said. “My client’s sister went knocking on doors, which is called police work. We wanted to provide what we found to the sheriff’s office. They were not interested.
Nine days later, we went to the DA’s office. The judge acted appropriately, the District Attorney of St. Tammany Parish acted appropriately. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office did not.”

Her ex-husband was a Slidell PD officer and Sheriff. Either her dad or father in law ran for Chief of Police.

the sheriff addressed the connection with the woman that was arrested as being false..At first glance it does not seem plausible that there was a cover-up...a screw-up , most certainly happened but it seems they cleaned up their mess..
