Abortion is bad.....mkay.
No one is saying heck yea let's go get an abortion, it will be great.

But we live in the greatest country on earth, in 2023, and doctors need every tool in thier tool chest to serve the public. Denying that is taking us backwards not forwards.

Paxton has stated that the obgyn has not presented the proper evidence to proceed.

If a relative of mine felt like their life was in jeopardy, my response would be to "get a second opinion" or, go to another state and do your dirty deed.

STATES RIGHTS MATTER.

Abide by the rule of law whether you like it or not or, move.

There is no SOP for what is considered "proper evidence" by Paxton that has been provided by the state.

How can it be submitted or validated if it doesn't exist? That's why it went to court. For the court to decide.

The burden of proof is on the doctor. Sounds like they have not presented the evidence to move forward with the procedure.

If her life is in danger "as they claim" why fight with Texas?

Go to another state and do your dirty deed.

STATES RIGHTS MATTER.

We went irreversibly backwards when the Left politicized Science and Medicine.

The onus is on THEM to fix it, not us.

And she was granted the injunction and got an abortion. Sounds like the system is working perfectly.

You realize the democrats in the senate had a bill making it legal up to the moment of birth on the senate floor just a few months ago.

Yup...

Realistically, there is no difference between "up to the moment" and "post birth".

She can have the abortion in Texas.

The government knows it doesn't know better than her or her doctor, hence the ruling.

Then why is the government - the AG of Texas - threatening that she and the doctors can be prosecuted?

How many other medical procedures is the AG threatening and putting out press releases?

Can the AG overturn a judges ruling?

She had to file a lawsuit and get an injunction to have an abortion that was clearly needed. Her life wasn't in danger thankfully. Texas is going to get sued by a woman in the new future when she dies because her DR is to scared being punished by the state of Texas. You can take a law to far the dems did it and now the conservatives in some states are doing the same. Most of this boards reactions are just petty.

the fact that this woman was denied a safe abortion is terrible

The fact that people kill their own children is worse than terrible.

Anecdotal side note:

My wife and I were told by 2 different OBGYN's that we should abort our 5th child.

Ultrasounds as interpreted by the doctors "showed" the baby was deformed and would have major health problems.

We decided against aborting and when my daughter was born she was physically perfect with no defects.
Mentally she is a straight A student and scored 34 on her ACT when she was 13

The doctor is brazenly breaking the law. What do you want to top law enforcement official do? Pick and choose which laws to enforce?

I think this is the kind of thing everyone supports. What conservatives are against is unnecessary abortions that could have been eliminated with some personal responsibility ahead of getting pregnant.

Exactly. Sacrificing innocent babies to the god of convienance should be banned.

About half of all U.S. women having an abortion have had one previously

A quarter of women who have abortions have more than two.
