Ya'll got me concerned now about my next refill for my son. He's 17 & T1 diabetic. His last 90 day refill (7 vials) was for $139.03 @ CVS on Feb 2nd. That's been the normal pricing as of late and I always thought that was a bargain.

I'm afraid you're going to be in for a shock... I hope not.

Good luck and good health to your son.

I feel bad for anyone on a limited/fixed income that is diabetic.

For me, the 10 percent of the American diabetic subset that has Type 1... Sure. I feel badly for them.

The 90 percent of American diabetics who are Type 2, which is caused by lifestyle choices such as lack of exercise leading to obesity... Not so much.

Imagine if people stopped listening to the government "food pyramid" (or whatever they call it now) and thus stopped having diabetes in such numbers.

I would argue the food pyramid kills and costs many multiples annually of whatever we are supposed to fear from the WuFlu.

Democrats are the party of big business and the wealthy, but they are not the party of the poor.

Republicans are not the party of the middle/working class. They support the interests of big business and the wealthy just like the Democrats.

Anyone on this board that thinks they have an advocate in D.C. is either mega-wealthy or totally deluded by party propaganda.

Once again, you side step my question and ALSO show your hypocrisy

You say ‘the problem with modern politics’, then do the modern political thing by avoiding my question and not having any damn accountability for the shite that’s going on

Early in his Presidency Biden put a 60 day delay on a late December 2020 Trump EO relating to Rxs that had yet to go into effect and only impacted FQHCs. Is that what y'all are talking about?
Seems that way. A rule that was never in effect somehow caused insulin prices to skyrocket.

Of course the OP's claim that a 90 day supply of insulin "went from $300 to $2800 in one month" isn't backed up with a link either, and no one else is reporting it.

Fear not. They're just making stuff up.

The consequence of Biden's order is that if your son happens to be a low income, non-commercially insured patient who goes to an FQHC for medical care and that FQHC participates in 340B, you'd be, for two months, paying the same for insulin as you paid for the entire Trump administration instead of an indeterminately discounted amount.

If you are anyone else this doesn't impact you at all. The EO that Biden "repealed" hasn't actually been repealed, just delayed for a couple of months and it never went into effect in the first place.

stout- hate to shite on the biden hate parade, but you got a link for that stat?

I ask because I just picked up 3 vials of insulin, cost me 30 bucks as usual.

I haven't gotten the EOB on these yet so I don't know what insurance paid. but my last EOB (january) was about on par as the past

True. I can't find this substantiated anywhere.

Where? I picked my insulin up yesterday and the cost to me was $74. Last year the same prescription cost me $526.

I am no democratic pussy or republican limp wrist pleaser and I know for a fact that this is fake news. There are many versions of insulin and it’s deliver method and every one of them have annual discount programs for everyone regardless of insurance. Average cost monthly is $100/ prescription

The glucose monitors and pumps are the real expense. Costs 2k-9k per year additional. The government allows the Insurance companies to deem those systems as ‘durable medical supplies’, which are not covered by health insurance.

Insurance companies are evil blood sucking empires

Edit: I can’t spell worth a shite
