Exactly.
Not to mention that the existence they have in these detention centers is still better than their home countries. I mean you can drink the water and not worry about explosive diarrhea..
It is not our responsibility to look after these people. We give their countries millions and millions for the purpose of stabilization. Why?

The only time 70% mentioned in either article is:

At a port of entry. Otherwise crossing it is illegal and a crime they are detained for. The entire border isn't a point of entry. Right now you can't even do that thanks to both sides dragging their feet.

She said Trump is breaking the law by detaining them indefinately. That it's an Article 14 violation.
But these people aren't being held indefinately. They're eventually released one way or another.
And I don't understand how Article 14 ties into asylum seekers who's cases haven't been adjudicated yet.

They are given a court date when applying for asylum, does that not meet "due process"?

Maybe 70% claimed asylum after being apprehended illegally crossing and not at a designated port of entry.
But the idea that people are waiting in line, with all their paperwork, followed all the rules, and then we’re arrested in the immigration office is ludicrous.

Absolutely ZERO legit asylum seekers have been apprehended in the desert or crossing the river. Asylum applications per the law are to go down at the port of entries. There's nearly 50 of them along the border w/ Mexico.
I heard of a recent poll (no sauce atm)
which said that 90+% of those apprehended by CBP are here for "economic reasons".
The ONLY reason you've seen an increase in "asylum" requests is due to a bastardization of thr immigration law that Hussein put in place via EO. Trump struck that provision down, and Jeff Sessions was enforcing the law as written, but an injunction was filed by one of Obama's activist judges.
They claim asylum because they were COACHED to claim asylum by liberal attorneys in the US who are sending word to those shite hole countries, telling them what to say, verbatim, when they're caught.
