So I'm getting into dispute with a friend of mine who says that technically these detention centers are concentration camps. And that some 70% of the detainees were aprehended while applying for asylum at the border.

I can't find anything to back that up. Has anyone seen this?

Why would you need to provide backup to his statements? Thats your friends job to prove his bs statements.

You shouldn’t let your friend claim that without proof. If they can prove it, accept it. If they can’t, tell them they are clearly wrong.

Don't hang out with progressives who want open borders.

Jews were forcibly moved to concentration camps. “Asylum seekers/refugees” approached them willfully. One thing is not like the other.

Tell him 90% of asylum seekers don't show up for their hearing if they are released into the country, and of those that actually show 70-80% are denied because they don't meet the requirements for asylum. Almost all of these people are just economic migrants trying to get in and attach themselves to our generous nanny state benefits

Calling them concentration camps is almost insulting.

The US isn’t taking over other countries and rounding up specific people for these camps.

These people are coming here, uninvited. Not respecting our laws and expecting something out of us.

If she doesn’t understand that, nothing you can say will sway her. Her mind is made up.

She's right because that's what her feelings tell her, obviously. You won't change her opinion so why even try?

Ask her if she has ever been to the DMV when there are 70,000 people in front of her. The government can’t just say “go check in at the motel 6 and come back in 2 months when it’s your turn to show us your paperwork.”

Secondly, only Mexicans can apply for asylum, unless those from south of Mexico have PAPERWORK showing they were DENIED asylum from every country they passed through before reaching America.

We have to determine the identity of these people, and verify if the people they’re traveling with are their relatives. Also, we have to determine if they have a legitimate asylum claim. Does your friend think that they get here and say asylum and that’s all there is to it?

Unlike real concentration camps, these prisoners have an option to be there or go home.

Your friend is trying to claim the moral high-ground, like all Lefties do.

Ask that friend if "Progressivism" can exist w/o extortion. Stop messing around in the minutiae and get right to the point; Their entire worldview is fricking immoral.

Immigrationforum.org

Freedomforimmigrants.org

These are the links she provided as proof that some 70% of the detainees in those facilities are asylum seekers. The first link is about the asylum process. The second link addresses detention statistics, but I don't see anything that says 70% of the detainees are asylum seekers.

1. I don't personally like to talk politics with friends, so this shouldn't be construed as advice in this situation.

2. Arguing about concentration camps and NAZIs is precisely what the left wants you to do. It forces both sides to accept the left wing premise.

3. Do not engage the premise. Instead, refocus on the necessity of ending third world immigration to this country, do not engage their bullshite at all.

So what?

Just because they are seeking doesn't mean their cases are legitimate. There are a-hole lawyers from here coaching them on how to lie.
