Definitely, but Republicans are all about stupid fallacies when it comes to their pet issues.

Chicken or egg?

It seems to me that the cities that enect these laws do so in an attempt to control an already-violent situation.

Surely you aren't suggesting that more mass shooting events happen BECAUSE of the stricter gun laws?

Likewise in many places with stricter gun control laws you have high crime. Because the legislation was in response to an existing problem. The idea that the high crime is precisely BECAUSE of the stricter gun control laws is a stupid fallacy.
In fairness, I think MOST gun control opponents do not take this view. They simply see the measures as being unconstitutional and ineffective. I tend to agree.

On this board, you'd be wrong.

IIRC, a town in Georgia has mandatory gun ownership. Crime rate there has plummeted since the law was passed.

It's Kennesaw - and they have a 62% higher crime rate than the average of all cities and towns in Georgia.

I'm not sure about 'mass' shootings but Lott has done the definitive research on strict gun laws and murder.
He took individual cities who changed laws in either direction.
Anytown USA made gun ownership more difficult = murder rate went up.
Everytown USA made gun ownership easier = murder rate went down.

Where did you get this figure?
quote:

Many locals CNN spoke to assumed that the law dated back to the town's founding, but it was actually only enacted in 1982. "It was meant to be kind of a crime deterrent," said Lt. Craig Graydon, who's been with the Kennesaw Police Department for over 30 years. "It was also more or less a political statement because the city of Morton Grove, Illinois, passed a city ordinance banning handguns from their city limits."

Kennesaw, a town of about 33,000 people, has had one murder in the last six years and a violent crime rate of below 2%.

Seems legit

One day you will look back at this time of your life in shame. Pure shame.

Since you cannot think for yourself, allow me to place this nugget in your pea brain.

Let's say you were a criminal, and you had a gun. Would you break in to the house where you know the owner has a gun, or the house where guns are not allowed?

If you were going to shoot up a school or concert, would you go to the place with or without the armed security?

It is not as hard as you dumbfricks try to make it out to be. You cannot ALL be that stupid.

Most yes...... but all????

The internet. The difference between that and the one you cited is likely 'violent crime'.

Obviously the gun law thing isn't working for those places.

Maybe they should put a 2 per day bag limit on pacifists.

Our church has uniformed security with concealed weapons. Plus several other members carry concealed every service.
