The Commission on Presidential Debates on Thursday rebuffed the Trump campaign’s request for an early-September debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden.
In a letter addressed to Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, the commission’s co-chairs wrote that the campaign’s fears of mass early voting before a debate had occurred were unfounded.

Was there a debate scheduled for September, or was this the extra debate that Trump asked for?
Also, who is on the commission of Presidential Debates?

looked it up. This was the proposed 4th debate which wasn't serious but was a smart move to counter the "scrap the debates" narrative.

The first debate will take place in Cleveland on Sept. 29, followed by one in Miami on Oct. 15 and the final debate in Nashville on Oct. 22.

This is as much about not having a VP debate as anything.
If Biden had a potential VP pick they weren't absolutely terrified of putting on display, the pick would be in already.

And they make it sound like they REALLY slapped the Trump campaign down.
They rebuffed them, after all.

Why not just go directly to the Biden Campaign and make THEM turn down the request?
Who says it HAS to go through this "commission"?

The DNC and RNC, who both subjugated themselves unnecessarily to the "non partisan" commission. It is yet another in a long line of self-licking ice cream cones that fedgov has set up. The commission's only purpose is to perpetuate and justify its own existence.

Supposed to be an impartial body. The former disgraced Mayor of Baltimore is a member of the Commission on FOX being a partisan Democrat hack.

Gonna fire up the smoker and throw on some backstraps and some hot dogs for the kids. Some homemade tater salad and macaroni salad. Couple pitchers of sweet tea and a Yeti full of cold cans...
I'd pay to watch, but even better that it's 100% free.
