Cohen Didn’t Violate Campaign Finance Laws, and Neither Did Trump

Thought this was one of the more compelling pieces regarding the latest on the campaign finance muh.
Couple of takeaways: if FEC doesn't provide clear guidance of hushmoney as a violation, then DOJ has no business trying to prosecute as criminal.
Also, SDNY violated DOJ guidelines in bringing such a claim.
Levin also made a good point the other day: weird venue for campaign finance violations- that shite normally handled by the DC wonks.
IF the Dim House wants to make campaign finance violations an impeachable offence, god bless. Trump will fulfill his promises from the grave and beyond.

Truth

How can Cohen or anyone else involved in these payments be charged with a “knowing and willful” violation of the law by facilitating these payments when numerous campaign finance lawyers, federal election commissioners, and the Federal Election Commission itself have all publicly opined that such payments do not violate the law in the first place?

Cohen was just convicted of Campaign Finance Laws, so I guess the courts disagree. You guys can scream at the sky all you want, it still doesn't change the outcome.

This would imply the DOJ is still against Trump, or there’s a rogue element in SDNY.
If this truly is an overreach, then this is the “panic” referenced by Q?

I mean, who gives a shite if Trump paid some whore not to tell everyone he fricked her?

What finder of fact ruled that the elements were met? Hint: there isn’t one.

He pled guilty. Not convicted. And of the 3 years amongst all the other clearly non-campaign related shite, how much was allocated to the CF stuff.
Again- knowing violation. Nerds who practice campaign finance violation know that there is nothing clear about these rules. So the Bad Orange Man knew he was conspiring to commit acts that violated FECA even though the FEC has never found that such acts violate FECA?
Trump must have Doc Brown's Delorian and went back in time to play some serious 4-D chess.

Convicted?

Correct me if I am wrong, however, I think Cohen plead guilty to violating Campaign Finance laws but that there was no trial where he was actually found guilty of violating Campaign Finance laws.
Agreeing to plead guilty to a violation of Campaign Finance laws in order to save your arse from going to jail for 30 years doesn't mean Campaign Finance laws were actually proven to be violated.

Cohen admitted to violating them at the direction of Trump of his own free will in open court.

Cohen said many contradictory things. Which should we believe!

This is the same type crap they pulled on Corsi, except he is suing Mueller, FBI, and CIA for 300 million, cause they wanted him to lie .....

He wasn't convicted, he pled out. And his lawyer was (literally) one of Hillary's best friends (Lanny Davis). Davis fricked Cohen and I think Cohen now realizes that. And a future judge might realize it too and throw the case out. Malpractice by Davis.
Not sure what Cohen was thinking here by pleading, tbh. I guess they had him on other shite like lying to Congress so he decided not to fight the rest of the charges.

I think the tax evasion stuff is what he was trying to avoid with a guilty plea

He wasn't convicted. He plead guilty to avoid other charges that were actually crimes.
He was absolutely convicted and sentenced after pleading guilty to 9 charges, 5 of which were for tax evasion
