By telephone?

lol

Thankfully I was wrong in my initial thought.

Headline: coast guard boat collides with coast guard boat. Both captained by females.

VHF isn't hackable. It's terrestrial radio waves. Why on God's Green Earth would their radio's not work? If there's a network outage, radio would be the only thing that DOES still work.

Is this real?

It could be their long range satellite coms.

Think about that though.

China just needs crowdstrike on their side.

There’s no way the other branches aren’t affected.

Could be a test run unfortunately.

NOT SAYING IT IS.

Then why would coast guard announce this outage publically?

Well. Because their responsibility is based here and Americans rely on them for assistance.

Maybe they can’t help but be transparent.

If it does affect the other branches we won’t know until well after it’s fixed. Very embarrassing for the US if that is correct.

You can also do Morse Code with pulses of light in case of radio silence.

"Our radios don't work"

"Make sure to monitor 16"

"Use our phone number" [no phone number given]

Absolute fail, not sure how you can defend this, even in any sort of devil's advocate way.

This is definitely concerning by the way.

The media should be all over it and they would be of a R was President.

But alas.

It can’t be a reference to their VHF.

It has to be something else.

Weasel language they are using.

I have to be escorted and let into my hotel today because they can’t assign key cards.

Crowdstrike have military contracts? I’ll check the database tomorrow to see.

The Rescue 21 system they use to locate and communicate with mariners in distress uses a series of radio towers and complex software. These towers and repeaters are all digital. I suspect the local Stations and Sector offices do have individual VHF capability which will be line of sight to that individual unit/tower but it won't be meshed together so SAR mission controllers will have a much tougher time coordinating the response.

I miss it. Some of the best times in my life. I always encourage people 18-20 if you have no idea what you want to be…. Join the coast guard.

Outages. Ships losing power. Fundamental breaches in security. The left knows they are losing and is beyond desperate.
