Far-left CNN took a double-digit ratings dive in August even as Fox News and MSNBC grew parts of their respective audiences.
Nielsen Media Research reports that perennial ratings loser CNN had a terrible August despite a banner news month, reports the Hill.

While Fox News notched its 200th consecutive month at number one in cable news and gained in primetime viewers (when compared to this same month last year), CNN lost -12 percent of its primetime viewers and a whopping -15 percent of total day viewers.

Fox News averaged 1.3 million total day viewers (down -4 percent) and an incredible 2.3 million primetime viewers (up +4 percent).

MSNBC averaged 1.04 million total day numbers (down -4 percent) and 1.845 million primetime viewers (up +1 percent).

Never understood the obsession with cable news ratings.

3 million people watch that shite every night.

350 million people don't.

But it's supposed to be important when 431,000 25-54 year olds watch Maddow and only 428,000 of that same age group watches Hannity? Gimme a fricking break.

I’m shocked their ratings were high enough to enable a double digit drop.

For real. And none of them are any better than the other. I haven’t watched Fox News in a couple years because I got sick of the misinformation, but I’ve read they are still the leader in bad reporting despite the fact that CNN gets called out way more for it. None of them are worth a shite.

CNN gets called out for lying, so all news outlets are wrong, especially FNC.

Then why are MSNBC's ratings improving? They're worse than CNN.

I still think Fox is playing a schtick with being conservative. Yes they employ Hannity, Ingram, and Levin, but they strike me as McCain, Kristol or Collins cable news. They will never stick their neck out for Trump, Allen West, or Sheriff Arpaio.

If anything, Fox is just a whipping post for the other 11 news outlets to take turns to mock.

No surprise here.

Liberals tend to get there news from multiple sources...Could be BBC, MSNBC, CNN, maybe even FOX. For the most part, it's to see how consistent the news is.

Conservatives only watch fox news. Their numbers will always be steady for the most part.

Poor CNN. They're gonna have to start charging more for commercials to subsidize their shitty programming.

So more people are watching the opinion shows. That explains it.
