Not according to the way the planet has worked in the past. We aren't far removed from an ice age, or did you not hear about that?

You might want to look up some more recent history.

I give some more recent global history known as the Eocene Epoch. You should probably educate yourself about how much warmer it was then, than now. A mere 50 million years ago.

If you really want to stretch your brain, the Silurian and Ordovician cooling/warming.

When you do, perhaps you'll discover why a little warming is hardly the catastrophe you imagine.

Like most of your ilk, you seem to think global temperature history began 200 years or so ago with the invention of the thermometer.

It didn't.

And you believe the shite coming from scientists who are bought off by the libtards?

I guess it all boils down to, who you gonna believe?

I see some people asking for evidence and this should provide anything you could want. I have a good friend who is Republican and very conservative. She is also a physicist and conducts climate research (including years in Antarctica). She has no doubt that human-caused climate change is real. LINK The most important question you should ask yourself is "what if I'm wrong?" If it's the 95% of scientists, then we've spent a bit more money and end up with cleaner air and water and energy independence. If it's climate deniers, there's 215 feet of sea level rise stored in the ice caps - is that a risk you want to take?

we are currently in an interglacial period.

the ignorance of these three statements is mind blowing.

First off all of those events are related to the cyclic nature of glaciation on Earth that occurs due to the Earth orbit, tilt, and the Malinkovitch Cycle and the eventual rise of CO2 thru volcanicism over millions of years which brings about a retreat of glaciers and entry into and interglacial period.

it took almost a million years for Earth to go from 300 ppm C02 to 410 ppm where we are now....Human and our industrial production allowed us to accomplish that in 55 years

the planet will respond with warming that now has to catch up in response to the CO2 concentration. in the later end of the last century and the beginning of this century we have 627 months straight of temperature averages above the 100 year average. at 407 ppm we were approaching a consistent 1.8 degrees globally.

'a little warming'...a little warming causes mass extinctions because for millions of years the world has been ON AVERAGE 2 degrees cooler than it is now and the trend will continue to rise for 2 centuries even if we stop producing CO2 tomorrow.

the last time the Earth was at 410 ppm seas were 6 to 40 meters higher

by the middle of the century we are going to be living in temperature averages not seen in 50 million years... and to put it simply, yes that will be catastrophic for the planet.

One of the most amazing factoids I ever read about volcanoes was that clouds of soot from Krackatoa were still in the atmosphere 100 years after it erupted.

So climate change is real?

Sure it is. Maybe one out of a hundred people dispute that but the fact certain people with certain opinions are overplaying the fact is what is doubted. According to their philosophy, every time a human or an animal is born climate change just got worse.

That's the part that the majority of the other 99 question, the severity of it.

The Supervolcan Toba, iirc, nearly killed off the human race...its was the major contribution to the reason geneticist see a huge bottleneck in the diversity of the human genome and was traced back to its eruption, the cooling effect and the spread of disease almost 70,000 years ago.

Its also the reason you can take the skin off of a cheetah on one side of Africa and graft it onto another from the other side and they will usually not reject it....its believed Cheetahs got down to as few as a 100 mating pairs and now suffer from genetic issues due to inbreeding.

And you never have any warming/cooling fluctuations in one do you? Look about 1000 years ago and tell me what you see.

You should probably look at the Paleo data for CO2 rates. I suspect you'll be much less confident of any correlation between CO2 and warming or cooling. But that would require thought which you haven't demonstrated a capacity for.
quote:

Other than it hasn't. Fact is if you project a trendline for temperatures During the last 2 million years it would trend DOWN.

And as far as the mass extinction stupidity you just spouted, the ice age did a pretty good job of killing off most of the species on the planet. But you want to go back to that for some stupid reason.

quote:

in the later end of the last century and the beginning of this century we have 627 months straight of temperature averages above the 100 year average.
When you go to 100,000 year averages, which is a much better indicator of actual trends in global history let us know. Using a 100 year benchmark is the equivalent of predicting to within an inch of where a golf ball will end up by a golfer about to hit a drive by how they looked at the bag before they even reached for a club.

quote:

by the middle of the century we are going to be living in temperature averages not seen in 50 million years...
No we aren't.

There isn't one single model that ANY of the global warming idiots have come up with that has shown a shred of accuracy.

So keep crying Chicken Little, the rest of us know the sky is not falling.

I love steaks and I love burgers but we probably should get rid of cows.

They take up WAY too much land to raise and graze, they drink WAY too much water and they eat WAY too much grain that could go to humans.

It is estimated it costs 1,000 gallons of precious water to make ONE hamburger.

Oh and they fart noxious methane into the atmosphere.

It costs way too much to make them fatty and delicious.

I don’t know if you are serious or if you are kidding.

Are you really serious about this?
