Both populations are interspersed around all regions,
so its not as geographically clear as the 1860s.

It is clear that the grassroots Right would easily dominate the Left ... as long as the leadership doesn't sell-out like the conservative leadership has done today ....The 2nd Amendment makes this possible ....
It was also an interesting point he believes that the current Government establishment would prefer to start WW3 as a distraction ... before they would allow another US Civil War ... preferring to spill the blood of patriots overseas rather than relinquish their grasp on domestic power. A very astute point, IMO.

Global commerce came to a halt courtesy of a microscopic virus. I had two shipments where Amazon refunded my money because they didn't arrive -- only to show up later.
If a bug can do it, a group with a well-developed, well-rehearsed plan would have no problem.

They dont control any resources. Red areas control a heavy majority of both food and energy.

If you cut off the supplies lines including electricity and water to large blue cities they would kill off each other inside of a week. Maybe even less.

This is a point a lot of people Miss in these scenarios. The vast majority of Liberals are basically on islands in big cities surrounded by a Sea of red. The reds are like water. Dispersed and everywhere. We have you surrounded.
There likely would be very few shots fired or lives lost outside of urban areas. All you have to do is cut off their supply lines and you would starve them out in no time flat. As long as they're not being resupplied by foreign actors via waterways that aren't guarded, then they would eat up all their foodstuffs very quickly and then try to flee, flee right into the Killing Zone. Funnels of death all on the major highways. They would be forced to surrender
