What I do not understand is why even trial something like Chloroquine? We know it is safe--

There is "rumor" that Ibuprofen is actually contraindicated with COVID. I am not saying that is true. But, it IS possible to have a thing that is good for one instance and has negative outcomes for another

Because if a false flag, people will feel safe when they aren't.

Exact example shown in the movie mentioned earlier. People believe something works, and will go back to normal. Could create a false sense of security.

Quinine and Cloroquine are different. They are not the same.

Eh, its not as safe as your typical antibiotics. Has some toxic side effects. But still a reason to be optimistic

I would take it without a trial if I were sick.

Yes.

I assume there wouldn’t be enough for everyone, so we would need to ration it to the most at risk.

I’m trying to think of an anti malarial which doesn’t have anti viral effects.

Coartem works against viruses, Primaquine does as well, hell, even Doxycycline does.

How would you use it? Drink it as a preventative? Would you have enough to last a month?

Wait till you have symptoms?

I like the cure where you spray yourself in the face with water from a bottle and then breath in hot air from a hair dryer.

Many anti malarial are prescribed as prophylactics. You’ll take a loading dose before you travel, and then continue to take the medication for the period of exposure.

So we’ve seen what happens when people take these medications for months on end. With the exception of Larium, and oral Quinine, they’re pretty well tolerated.
