Show votes are a waste of time. It does nothing but allow for showboating and division among the members of the Republican caucus. Put together a "Contract with America" style plan, and have every republican candidate run on that. It worked in the '90s. Republicans have higher favorable ratings on policy than we have had in nearly 50 years, voters just don't like the theatrics and chaos that has been the hallmark of our party lately.

Sad. I thought Gov Abbott was sending the Guard to the borders, but it sounds like there aren't enough personnel to stop it? Seems like surrounding states could send additional Guard to help. It's going to get worse if we don't do something now.

2 of the absent votes already said they would have impeached and will do so if given the chance.
MTG used a maneuver to get the vote on the agenda with almost no notice and some members were out of town.

Because she's nothing but an attention whore, and honestly not a very bright one. Though, I guess she was smart enough to get enough people in her district to vote her into a 6 figure salary position with great benefits and access to lobbyist dollars for as long as she wants...so maybe she is actually very bright.

. The GOP has a slender majority in the House and nothing more. Roy is angry about it and seems to wallow in frustration instead of doing the hard work to hammer out better government under trying circumstances. Also note how easy it is to grandstand about “standing up” when has not accomplished anything.
