I get what you're saying, but it really depends on what the population wants.

As you've mentioned, the UK (along with much of Europe) has adopted the belief that both Islamic and Western cultures can co-exist, and they can to a certain extent. The problem goes back to GAT (my "Group a-hole Theory" which states that the larger a group gets, the more likely it is to have members who are a-hole enough to create drama). The UK (and other European countries) has reached a point where its over-zealous attempt to prove how progressive and inclusive of thought they are has allowed the more radical practitioners of Islam a strong enough foothold to ignore a child pedophile ring ( LINK) seemingly because of the race of many of the perpetrators. We've seen this also in other European countries where anything which could point to someone committing violent crimes based, at least in part, on their religious societal cultural norms is now either ignored in reporting or reporting criteria has been changed to purposely avoid having to acknowledge an issue with cultural incompatibility.

Once the pendulum of accommodation has swung that far, the only way you're arresting the growth of that other culture is for that pendulum to swing back a similar distance to non-accommodation. If your population isn't willing to do that, they get overwhelmed to the point of assimilation into the encroaching culture or else they leave the region.

The Chinese have apparently seen this and have decided early on that they would rather draw their line of accommodation much earlier and much more stridently than Europe has done.

Agreed...For centuries, Islam has been kept in check until post WW-2 Western Europe. Hard line liberals and woke white women now in political office opened the door for hoards of Muslims into their countries and now we see their takeover leading to increased crime, no desire to assimilate into Western Culture and breeding at a high rate to eventually become a majority. China sees what is happening and is addressing the issue now, kudos to them!
