A DePaul student collected 1,703 signatures to run for alderman in his Chicago ward. But more than 2,700 people supposedly signed affidavits revoking their support.

Something doesn't add up, writes columnist @John_Kass. https://trib.al/98bWFWD

The David is David Krupa, 19, a freshman at DePaul University who drives a forklift part time. He’s not a political powerhouse. He’s just a conservative Southwest Side teenager studying political science and economics who got it in his head to run for alderman in a race that pits him against the most powerful ward organization in Chicago.

To get on the ballot, Krupa was required to file 473 valid signatures of ward residents with the Chicago Board of Elections. Krupa filed 1,703 signatures.

More than 2,700 revocations were turned over to the elections board to cancel the signatures on Krupa’s petitions. Chicago Board of Elections officials had never seen such a massive pile of revocations.

“We turned in 1,703 signatures. We compared them to the 2,796 revocations, and found only 187 matches, meaning only 187 people who signed David’s petitions filed revocations,” [election attorney Michael] Dorf said. “So, what about the 2,609 people who didn’t sign for David but who filed revocations? That’s fraud. That’s perjury. That’s felony.” LINK

Replying to @EsotericCD
That is insane. Over 2,500 felonies likely committed that no one will ever investigate or care about.

And for what reason?? So a 19 year old can’t get 3% of the vote?

And that's why they have zero fear that they will ever be held accountable for their audacious behavior.

With each passing election, Democrats become more and more dangerous to the Republic.

It's maddening to me that the story never says what happened or will happen with Krupa's remaining VALID signatures....there were only 187 revocations of actual signatories, so he still has (had?) WELL over the required number to get him on the ballot.

Everyone involved is a Dem so it'll be one of those "we'll look into it but I gotta run to my meeting" charades.

This was just a trial run to give the apparatchiks some playing time before the 2020 election. Got to weed out the weak performers. Can't have someone onboard who cannot keep pace with the 5* harvesters.

The FEC doesn't have jurisdiction to clean this crap up either which only adds to the problem across the US. They only have jurisdiction over the US House, US Senate, and Presidential races.

These Politicians don't think something like the Yellow Jackets can't happen in some parts of the country and if they keep this stuff up its not only going to happen but its going to be devastating to our political process.

It seems like a split-city. The Ne'er-do-wells are insulated from the BS and go about their daily lives. The crime ridden areas are warzones and the Ne'er-do-well's don't give two damns about it because it doesn't bleed into their lives.
