Don’t worry, hillbilly. I’m sure you’d survive a trip up here if you wanted to venture out of your trailer park.

Is hillbilly the best you can do sonny?

I’d wager I have rental houses in a better neighborhood than yours. Assuming you can afford property of your own.

NYC was awesome when I was younger. With the exception of 2001....NYC went through the late 1990s and early 2000's as an amazing, safe, and a clean city. It was night and day from what it was in the 1970s and early 1980s.

OK, paw-paw. That's nice. How can you be so sure about my neighborhood? What would make you think that I can't afford my own property?

People live in a bubble screen on which reality is projected. Most people can’t mentally handle anything over PG-13.

Yep. I’ve got a few decades of international experience, and watching them slide into the morass they’ve become was pretty sad. About 10-15 years ago I saw there’s no coming back from it.

No coming back from what 10-15 years ago? NYC was great 10-15 years ago. Tell us about your decades of "international experience".

I can start with an insult that’s on the level of a teenager. Whether that’s you being lazy, young or unintelligent that doesn’t generally translate well to financial independence. Not sure which (if not all 3) of those categories you fall into.

Plus I have rental properties in great neighborhoods. College town and all, can’t attract quality clients if you don’t have quality property.

Explain this. Don't even live alone? Not sure where you're going with this. It's probably because your I.Q. is so astronomically high, that I can't follow it. Can you do me a favor and let me know what you mean? Thank you for taking pity on those of us with low I.Q.s.

No it wasn’t. It was pretty nice about 50 years ago, but as the other person who you should also probably listen to there’s a world of difference between then and now.

You should learn a few things from people with experience. I expect you’ll have to learn some unnecessary lessons to convince you otherwise.

Those are always fun to watch

I'll trust my own opinion on this since I live up here. Thanks though.

You're a parochial idiot. I love how you think you're so wise though. Still waiting to hear about those decades of international experience.

I didn't notice the obvious signs of decline in NYC until about 6-7 years back. Then confirmed it every time I've visited since unfortunately.

We usually stay at the Essex House on 59th (or somewhere near it). Last time we went was right before the pandemic in Feb 2020. I still had a great time, but it became very difficult to ignore that the city was having some major issues with homelessness, crime, cleanliness, and the condition of the infrastructure. It was pervasive in almost every place we normally go to unfortunately.

Our Feb 2020 trip was when we started being concerned that the decline we were seeing was not they typical ebb and flow that cities deal with from time to time.

The pandemic was really hard on that city too. I noticed that a lot of my colleagues (even younger ones) from our New York office were relocating to Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or more suburban parts of Long Island. They were trying to get away from the pandemic issues and all of the restrictions. Hard to justify what they pay in rent when you can't enjoy the amenities.

You live there? Sounds like you simply don’t know any better.

Which leads us back to well, all 3 of the traits You display. Young and stupid seem to be leading the way with lazy still in the race.

You’ll be waiting a long time Sonny. Only stupid people reveal too much of their activities on the net.

You’re not really helping your image here you know
