oh you're actually worried about optics instead of the result.
you're right, I don't understand.

There aren’t “talking points” like usual. This was a catastrophic mistake to drag our country into a pointless war for Israel’s best interest and quite literally all of this could have been avoided.

No group obsesses over optics like the left. It's why they create a new term for every situation.
The most tired strategy is to slap "justice" behind every cause.
This is no different.

What the frick are you even talking about? We are at war because a foreign “ally” dragged us into and could have been completely avoided with competent leadership. This isn’t about “optics”. Holy shite

catastrophic mistake
It's hardly catastrophic at this point.
Our forces are operating with impunity.
That could certainly change, but calling it catastrophic less than 40 days in after the near complete destruction of their military capabilities and senior leadership is hyperbolic nonsense.

Meh. We aren't losing, smart guy.
And everything in geopolitics includes optics.
Starmer doesn't give 2 shites if we dismantle the Iranian regime. Why do you think he is denying the use of Diego Garcia? Because he's as popular as syphilis at home and doesn't want to be seen as an American lapdog. The same can be said for Macron.

Perhaps the societal collapse of a a country of 93 million people with good culture and history is a disaster. Especially when it never even had to happen. But enjoy your optics drivel

Let's not romanticize life under the Mullahs in Iran.
Posted on 4/7/26 at 11:39 am to Wildcat1996
So we should usher their population into famine and death? Because we don’t agree with their lifestyle we should make their lifestyle worse?
Holy shite

If you are really going to feign care and concern for the Iranian people, while feigning care for the US taxpayer, you should start creating threads about the cost of the Iranian version of the Marshall Plan where we pay for all the infrastructure we destroyed after regime change.
I believe it was Colin Powell that told W "you break it you buy it" in regards to Iraq.
And then you have to hope whatever follows is no worse than the Mullahs.
There are lots of reasonable arguments to be made about this war. You just aren't making them.

There shouldn’t be Iranian reparations or rebuilding because this was all completely avoidable and should have never happened
I care about humanity and everyone involved. Tax payers shouldn’t have increased costs in their lives over garbage they didn’t ask for and a country of 93 million doesn’t deserve societal collapse. Crazy ideas.

I think most of us understand how Trump works.
You clearly do not! You just displayed total ignorance on what Trump ran on. Education for you:
A central pillar of his 2024 platform:
-He repeatedly stated he would deploy U.S. Special Forces and use "cyber warfare" to dismantle cartel leadership, regardless of the Mexican government's stance.
- He campaigned on designating cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) to provide the legal justification for unilateral military strikes on fentanyl labs and trafficking infrastructure.
-He campaigned on the promise that Iran would "never have a nuclear weapon" under his watch, stating that military options were fully on the table if diplomacy failed.
- He warned that any further attacks by Iranian-backed proxies on U.S. personnel would be met with "overwhelming and devastating force" directly against the Iranian regime.
