The far right is the only thing that MAY save nation for a little while, it will be destroyed by demographics in time no matter what.

Letting emotion guide decision making is a sign of weak mentality.

I think that what turns me away from the Left the most, is that many policies of the left are based on what seems like the “nice” thing to do.

Political Correctness is just politeness, but it’s a 1A Problem

Welfare programs are sold as “compassionate” but they often times enable, if not subsidize bad decisions.

I’m all about charity, kindness, respect and compassion- but modern day left leaning politics seems awfully codependent to me. I just don’t think it’s healthy for a person or a society to live that way.

Emotions definitely have a role, but enacting laws, policies and programs that seek to prevent people from feeling their own negative emotions, is removing people’s humanity from them. Our emotions tell us what is right and wrong for each of us as individuals. My problem with most if not all thinking on the “left” is that it assumes what feels right for one person, or one small group, by necessity is right for everyone. That will NEVER ever be the case.

That said. I think you sound like a reasonable fellow.

But I don’t in general understand moderate. To me, it’s just too often that moderates are really just scared to have a position on anything.

I either have an opinion on something, but if don’t know enough about an issue to form one, I learn about it and eventually will form one.

I think I’m a reasonable person, but would not characterize myself as moderate.

Oh please. You spend hours here every day attacking posters and making juvenile comments about Trump. Just be honest for once.

What do you call the “far right”? Because last I checked, we have open socialists running for president and the most liberal republican potus in a half century
exactly

Trump is no hard core conservative ideologue by any stretch of the imagination

even Jimmy Carter said that Trump would be better than Ted Cruz because he is not a "true believer"

Democrats have gone off the rails and missed a golden opportunity, because Trump came in willing to compromise and negotiate

I'm super conservative fiscally, lean left on most issues socially so yeah I guess I'm moderate? I really just form my own opinion on single issues and dont fall into groupthink.

Yeah, our poli board "moderates" tend to just be Democrats full of shame or who want to deceive folks

I'm a real moderate. And I have never voted Dem in my life. Did vote Perot.

To a leftist that makes me a white supremacist, far right ideologue and I'm ok with that.

I’ll go further and say anyone who automatically believes the other side is evil and refuses to engage with them in honest conversation is a part of the problem.

I used to feel the same way, but then the left made it clear that if they could hurt Trump, then even making it easier for children to be raped and abused is OK (muh kids in cages), and started having a permissive attitude about mentally ill transgenders grooming little boys as young as 10 and 11 for sexual abuse by putting them in drag and parading them on stage in gay bars

those two things, coupled with bringing drag queens into elementary schools and libraries to address children have good and truly hardened my heart

show me some Democrats that are willing to protect children if you want to change my mind

I find it amusing when people say they are a fiscal conservatives but don't care about social issues.

Social issues like welfare , food stamps , Section 8 housing , foreign aid , illegals etc... cost money.

If you are a fiscal conservative you should care about social issues , and you should be socially conservative as well. It isn't logical if you are not.

I have NEVER attacked a poster who did not attack me first. Never.

Yes, I have fun with Trump’s idiosyncrasies, but I am no harder on him than the majority are versus politicians that they do not like.

Trump is a populist demagogue, and not remotely a “conservative.”. The same cannot be said of many of his supporters. He chose his demagoguery to lure THEM.

I’m a registered independent. I’m much more worried about the left than the right.

You are delusional. There is nothing close to liberal about Trump or anyone in his cabinet or his group of advisors.

Name a couple of liberal positions Trump has taken since he has been in office.

Come on, that should be easy.

I was a skeptic, even against him in the primaries

voted for him because #neverhillary

all he had to do to make me happy was to appoint a satisfactory replacement for Scalia

he did that, and also FAR exceeded my expectations

I could not be more pleased than I am with his stewardship of our country

no, I don't agree with him 100% of the time, but we have NEVER seen a political leader keep or try to keep as many promises as he has
