"He was called the N word and the attackers repeatedly referenced Donald Trump."
It's odd that when this story first broke I heard the Trump references part- like beating the kid because they presumed the mentally challenged kid supported Trump? Then the Trump references went out of the news.
I think Montel covers it best in the other thread...

Holy shite, they phrased that in the most brilliant way possible so that if you were hearing about it for the first time, you'd think the victim was black and the attackers were white, racist Trump supporters. That's almost unbelievable.

it's simply amazing that the piece had to be written, edited, produced, supervised, etc by probably 5-10 people at least and they all would rather completely violate professional standards and give a black eye to their profession than just report a simple story straight up

I just can't grasp why, and how an entire profession lost its damn mind. That sound bite is unethical. Seriously. It should be worthy of a firing but it's encouraged.

We should praise them for this outrage. The same decadent, failing media establishment that could produce such a soundbyte is what has made our revolution possible.

Yeah that's just disgustingly terrible journalism

this election season and the follow up afterwards shows they're partisans and ideologues above all else

How can anyone doubt that the media is all about promoting The Narrative instead of finding the truth anymore?

would have been even funnier had the reporter more accurately described that they were in fact referring to him as a "bitch arse n-word".
or if he reported that the victim was brought to the hospital bc "that n*gga leakin" from the head.
and then you hear 911 audio...we have an unidentified male, 19...leaking from the head.

the gentleman in the green and yellow shirt looks nice.
btw, anybody else wondering what the parents were thinking driving their mentally handicapped son to mickey d's 20 miles away to have a sleep-over with these dudes.
is it just me who finds something odd about that?

your mentally handicapped teenager doesn't just end up having a new year's eve sleep-over in a stolen van with 4 black dudes/dudettes who later duct tape him, kick the shite out of him, and cut him 'til he leaking from the head without you somehow making questionable parenting decisions...right?

Is he mentally handicapped, autistic, or have a mental disorder? I've read all three.
But to answer your question, he's an adult and his parents were likely struggling with where to set the boundaries for his journey into adulthood in light of his handicap. He considered one of the attackers his friend of two years.
