CBS News This Morn Just Did A Hit Piece Portraying Trump As A Proponent Of Anti Semitism

I just watched a pure piece of evil propaganda and demagoguery by CBS News this morning that portrayed Trump as a proponent of anti semitism and Trump supporters as Jew haters. And it was very well crafted.

First they lead off showing some of the Capitol rioters entering the building with a lot of screaming and yelling. Then they show a couple of quick stills showing some supposed anti Semitic imagery by some of the rioters. It looks like a few, a handful, maybe a dozen or more. Now, there is no context given here regarding how many actually had this stuff and how many Trump supporters were in DC that day.

Next, they show Trump giving a speech sometime, somewhere in the past. It’s not on January 6. There is no sound either but he is speaking and gesticulating aggressively, which is what they wanted to show. Then a clip of Hitler ranting in a speech.

Next, they show a clip of some of the Charlottesville protestors carrying torches followed by a clip of the klan from the past.

Then they show reported numbers of cases of hate crimes, specifically anti Semitic crimes, and how the numbers have climbed significantly through the years, from around 250 in 2005 to around 2000 in 2020. No context regarding these cases is given.

Then the head of the anti defamation league is introduced by the reporter, who leads in with “the foremost expert on anti Semitic hate in the US says it’s no coincidence that the numbers have increased markedly under Trump.”

Anti defamation league guy then bashes Trump repeatedly, calling him a bully, a liar, a divisive person, a bad person...without ever calling him anti Semitic or offering examples of statements or actions by Trump that are anti Semitic.

Reporter leads anti defamation league guy...”For those that dismiss the hate by Trump supporters that we all saw on January 6 at the Capitol insurrection, what do you say to America about those that ignore past history, about what could happen again?” Anti defamation league guy responds...”This is a very dangerous and critical time in our country. What happened in the past can happen again and we need to take steps to prevent it from happening.”

Reporter then closes it out with a picture of a smiling and gently waving Biden then says the Biden Administration has refocused attention and effort on hate crimes and will not ignore the problem like Trump and will deal with the problem instead of let the problem grow like Trump did. He says increased surveillance and monitoring will be used by our nation’s security to combat hate.

Anchor guy at desk then compliments the reporter: “Very good, in-depth reporting there, excellent job. This is a very serious problem for our country.” He then showed where to find it online and encouraged people to share it on social media.

No actual statement of anti semitism by Trump was played. No example of any anti Semitic government action, order, policy, or directive was offered. No mention that some of Trump’s family, including his grandchildren, are Jewish. No mention of Trump being the president that moved the US embassy to Jerusalem. No mention of the 4 peace deals between Israel and Muslim countries facilitated by Trump Administration. None of the clips of Netanyahu praising Trump were shown. No context regarding the numbers of anti Semitic crimes. The words Muslim or Islamic were never mentioned. No discussion of other possible influences; only Trump and Trump supporters. No context regarding the number of displays of anti Semitic imagery in relation to the overall number of Trump supporters in DC on January 6.

I’m just thinking about all the non critical thinking people out there that watched that propaganda and soaked it up like a sponge. And about all the people predisposed to believe this based on their own prejudices and having those prejudices reinforced. And this was just about ten minutes. But it’s like this all day, every day.

We will never have a healthy country with this media that exists now. The media will be the catalyst that ultimately tears this country apart at the seams.
