The CBO estimates are historically very poor.
I would take those estimates and consider plus or minus 50% also very possible.

What is a "real wage"?
Real wages means wages adjusted for inflation.

And are you really trying to say that wages have been stagnant for 60 years?
Yes when adjusted for inflation. But things like home prices and health care costs have far outpaced inflation, while wages haven’t. So people have the same buying power they did in the sixties, but everything is way more expensive now.
For example, when adjusted for inflation, the median home price in the sixties would be about $160,000 in today’s money. But the median home price today is $270,000.
Average hourly wage on the other hand was about $2 an hour in the sixties. In today’s money that would be about $20 an hour, and that’s right around where the average hourly wage is today. That’s what it means when economists say real wages haven’t increased.

Found someone who wants a raise! It’s ok! I don’t make more than 15/hr either. My workplace would have to cut staff in order to meet a 15/hr wage. Or the company would close. Millions of other people would be in the exact same boat as me.

Im curious to know how the the guy who has to bust his arse to get to $23 an hour feels about people who dont do shite coming up flipping burgers, getting orders wrong making $15 an hour?
More feelings bullshite. Why would that guy care? Maybe the burger flipper can take their new income and attend a trade school.

Wouldn’t get a raise from this.

Did you know that millions of people per year already lose their jobs when companies cut staff or close? And the minimum wage hasn’t gone up since 2009?

That's not inflation

Right. Wages are in line with inflation, everything else isn’t.

To get a job making $16.00 an hour.

Well you kind of prove the point that millions MORE will lose their jobs if the minimum wage is increased.

So why do you only care about raising wages killing jobs and not all the other reasons? Is it because maybe you’ve been brainwashed by rich business owners who only care about their own money?

And millions of more people will lose jobs. I have a felony conviction and it’s very hard for me to get a high paying job. I put my self in this position though. I know I cannot support a family or even myself sufficiently with my current wage. I unlike you though believe it’s up to myself to pull me out of my current situation. Not the government!

Your gripes are with the education system that I'm sure you gladly support the federal government ever expansive role in.

Education costs are a great example. It’s not the only one though.

If you’re following the thread, all the feelings talk is coming from the don’t raise wages side.

No. Economics and reality show you why a forced artificial wage increase is bad.
I’m sorry that your pea sized brain cannot comprehend reality, so you have created this fantasy world where basic laws of human nature (such as greed and selfishness) don’t exist.
You’re nothing but a sheep who can’t see reality because it’s “scary” and “unfair”
You are subhuman scum and should be treated as such. You are a joke. An imbecile. You are so stupid that you make actual retards look like Albert Einstein.
It’s honestly sad how stupid you are.

Ok buddy, I hope you work out whatever is bothering you.

Incorrect. The inability to develop a skilled labor force is the issue. Cost is irrelevant because it won't ever be enough to please the do gooders like yourself.
