for the record yet again:

abortion: against partial birth or late trimester abortion. if it were up to me I would probably make it illegal after 16 weeks or so. I'm not a fan of abortion generally but I also don't feel enitely qualified to tell women what to do with their bodies, particularly if you can medically tell me the fetus isnt developed enough to feel pain. gets dicey for me after that.

heathcare: way more complicated than i can really unpack in one paragraph, but i was not a fan of Obamacare because it mandated private citizens to buy a product, that said i dont want hardworking people to have to choose between paying the rent and paying for healthcare they need. neither party has it right.

Russia: foreign policywise or re: Trump? I would say lets wait and see what Muller turns up and deal with it then, said many times i doubt they coordinated with each other bc why would they need to? Russia could influence the election without asking trumps people how to do it.

Climate Change: oversimplistic answer is that i'd rather be safe than sorry. Humans have been wrong about all sorts of things so i could see what science is saying now not being true, but i still think it's just smart to take precautions and take care of our planet, it's the only one we have. Conspiracy nonsense is where you lose me.

Impeachment: I have never once called for Trump to be impeached and would not do so absent some serious malfeasance. Not at all a fan of weaponizing the impeachment process for political reasons.







Now tell me, which of those is not a moderate position?

I agree that your example is virtue signalling but I think the second is too because growing up I've known people to use the word casually around "safe whites" who won't be offended but avoid it with strangers.

And virtue signalling isn't necessarily fake. It's often well-meaning but laden with peacockery. People can give anonymous donations, but they often choose to put their name on a foundation or building to get the recognition. It's a little annoying but might result in charity that wouldn't have been done anonymously. Plus, it doesn't just signal that I'm virtuous but that this particular behavior is virtuous. We could use more of a certain type of virtue signaling (and maybe SFP would agree).
