Its hyperbole. But the op seems to suggest getting rid of the gays will solve their molestation issues. That's simply isn't the case. Maybe they should get rid of child molesters and stop covering it up. What a novel concept.

As a Catholic, I want to fix what’s broken. And I’m fairly sure that at this point everyone has acknowledged the sickeningly bad cover-up.
I also believe that most of the heirarchy doing the covering up were themselves gay, so make of that what you like.

He’s the reverse image of what he’s accusing others of.
He’s more interested in protecting the rights of gay people as gay people than he is in preventing preventable abuse.
He thinks it’s an anti-gay issue for us because it’s a pro-gay/defense of gays issue for him.
