I 100% agree…when those countries were more in line with the western political thought

You realize that the Brits had overt socialist governments for periods of the Cold War, and still sided with the US? You desperately need to read a book. The geopolitical situation trumps the notion that allies need political coherence. Before you respond glibly, think about that last sentence for a bit.

quote:

They are still allies, but as their political views shift to more “China-esque” in style, we should consistently revisit our relationship

That's the growing trend of several governments, including US allies, who have entrenched party mechanisms.

Both countries prosecute speech crimes and will criminally charge for social media posts.

Seems like the US is doing a lot of work on that under this Trump administration when it comes to anything related to Israel.
Is the USA criminally charging individuals with speech crime violations?

I think, based on your posting history, I have an idea of your understanding. Something like Donald Trump is the great threat to world peace and if he'd just go away, we'd all sing Kumbaya and share our dwindling resources like peaceable humans always have. For whatever reason, your ideas are sadly misplaced and not worthy of consideration.

Who are these states that can mount these expeditions? List them. Only the US has the logistical capability to do such a thing for the foreseeable future.

Canada's foreign policy before the Atlantic alliance was centered around countering American threats to sovereignty, which is why the country is laid out the way it is. That is a historical fact that you seem to not understand.

Because most MAGA are incredibly stupid and insecure and like Trump think that being a bully to a country you asked to by their goods from is screwing you even though they sell to you at below market is a good idea just because we can.

The arrangement with Canada has worked well for both countries since the mid 1960's and up until this February no one complained about

Look at Harry Butte and Kiwi white knighting for the cucks up north. They apparently think the Biden way of bending over and taking it up the poop chute is the way to go.

No one is winning in any of this. No one is losing either. It's all juvenile bluster unless you are talking the emoyment of juvenile rhetoric.

Canada has been and is a good trading partner. Show me where they have been screwing us.

Yes, and they have progressed substantially since then.

We condemn countries, like China and Russia, for actions that our allies, like UK, also perform.

Do you know what dictatorial means? A state imposing a law that a legislative body voted on is not dictatorship. It might be heavy-handed, poorly thought out, etc., but it still isn't a dictatorship.

Which fits in with the trend of British common law on the subject. The US has always been an outlier with regards to free speech. They have always had a different tradition of free speech which was distinct from the version the US had, and those distinctions never were made coherent, because, again, the US has a slightly different intellectual tradition. Which again was based on a rejection of how the Brits treated other religions. Do I need to explain early American history to you?

There are so many Chinese and Indians voting in their elections now

Participation spans both formal volunteering, often in English-dominant spaces, and informal volunteering at religious institutions, festivals or on social media. Many preferred to volunteer where they could speak Hindi, Punjabi, Bangla or Urdu or sometimes a mixture of multiple languages, referred to as translanguaging.

One participant, a banker and social media influencer who runs a Pakistani Facebook group, said:

“I often volunteer on Facebook. I also join politicians in their campaigns. My entire social media work is based on Urdu. It allows me to connect with people.”

Would have had more impact to schedule a bunch of meetings and then ghosted him. That would be classic.

Uh, have you just started following geopolitics or something? This is absolutely standard. The US gives allies a wide leeway with regard to their own internal affairs while also seizing any opportunity to criticize their rivals.

quote:

In your opinion, at what point would the political differences become a hindrance?

When the geopolitics change. They are not going to change meaningfully anytime soon as the world settles into this vague multipolarity, as the only other options for these countries would be to seek out investment from the China.

The things you consider important are just not important in terms of the geopolitics.
