There is no assurance there will never be war again at a large scale on this planet. And the US will protect our national interest. While we let the communists have Cuba, I doubt we will let the Chinese have Canada. We will declare if unacceptable and if nothing is done about it, we will get busy. The top of the pyramid will not end up with China up there. I hope they can heed there billion plus people.
I don't mind differing scenarios for the sake of discussion.

That wasn't a statement on Canada's military might, it was a statement on their relative geographic isolation. I don't think the Chinese have any real capacity to execute such an invasion and hopefully we won't ever have to test such a hypothesis out.

Except again, Canada exists where it does. They wouldn't be the only country who took for granted US military might after 2010 and never returned spending levels to pre-global recession levels. And it is difficult to suggest a country with the level of development of Canada would disappear within a week, regardless.

It depends on what type. If Canada continues to become the place Sikh Indians migrate to in order to escape Modi's internal colonization efforts, then possibly. Canada and India have had a very rocky relationship the past decade. And the Canadians have a plan to increase their population to 100 million by 2100. Those dynamics are difficult to predict.
