Nah that is still a remote possibility. Until the Chinese actually execute something on the level of what the US does, I don't believe they have the ability to invade anywhere in the world like the US can.

A suicidal scenario. We have fleets of ships on the west coast including carriers and sundry and submarines. We monitor activities all the time. So I'm saying China can do nothing in Canada unless we allow it. So if we decide they can have Canada, they can. If not? They can't. Call it the Monroe Doctrine.

Oh I fully agree, his position was that even without US protection Canada was safe due to some theoretical geographical safety.

They are going to be kicked in the mouth if they invade Taiwan. They would ultimately succeed. They would have an easier time with Canada, if the US wasn't involved.

I am denying the absolute likelihood of both a possible coup in Vancouver, which is a weird place to stage a coup. And to what effect? And I am denying the ability of China to move 1 million fighting age males to the West Coast of North America and keep them organized enough for any possible invasion of the US. Again, the scale and of that undertaking is gigantic.
These are not reasonable ideas that anyone in any defense capacity will entertain. But I'm arguing with a dude who thinks bringing up the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a good example of what happens when a smaller neighbor fights a larger neighbor, so I know I am not dealing with the best and brightest.

I mean, their fishing boats are capable of more than just fishing.
As weird as it sounds, China could invade Canada and easily take over what’s West of the Rockies. The Canadians would probably welcome them.
On another note, there may be a million “fighting aged” Chinese men in our country.
It is a sobering thought.
