I think DeSantis is fantastic and can't wait to vote for the guy as the nominee some day. But I think Carl here makes the case for why it HAS TO be Trump now. Even IF we manage to slam through a different nominee, The Left will know they won a major battle destroying Trump and making him toxic on his own side. They can't win that battle.

There is no way (IMO anyway) that it's NOT Trump. Unless he decides for whatever reason not to run.

I think I agree with Carl. I mean, I was all in on DeSantis this time last week, and I still think he has to be elected President in 2028, but the FBI raid is a game changer. I think I may have to vote for Trump in the primaries.

Totally agree.
But he is 167-6 on endorsements this cycle. If he runs you won’t have to make a choice. It will be unopposed. I don’t think the GOP will even sacrifice a RINO.

I've been on record as thinking there's NO WAY both run. If that happens, it's game over for The Right, because they'll fatally wound each other campaigning. So I don't think you'll get a chance to choose between the two. It'll be either or, and a host of idiot RINOs getting their clocks cleaned in the polls but knobs polished by the media.
And while I think DeSantis is ultimately the best possible candidate (I don't mean to be electable, but once in office actually getting things done and choosing people that won't stab him in the back over and over) walking away form Trump knowing the fix has been in since before he was even elected is simply giving away the store to the people who did it. They can't win that.

If shite like this is still looming, the only way Ron should want to throw his hat in the ring would be to position himself as some sort of swampy alternative.
I hope nobody wants him cast as that - especially him.

More than half the country probably currently leans a little left, add in about 20% RINO that will never vote for Trump. So at best, Trump gets 30% of the votes in 2024. Sounds like a winning strategy. No way he gets more percentage of votes than he got in 2020

For every RINO that may not support PDJT, he has 2 or more Hispanic, Black and Blue Collar of all colors that are supporting him.
Take the RINOs and just change parties. PDJT has been evolving a new R party of America First populism that keeps over 80% R's while adding the previously mentioned coalition.
No RINO going to get the support of Blue Collars and POC.

This makes sense, except Trump lost his last election so….he needs all Repubs plus his new coalition to win - and he ain’t gonna get it.
And to be clear, polling suggests that Non white voters are being pushed to repub candidates bc the Dem candidates are too liberal so if that’s true…-a Ron DeSantis can keep most “RINOs” plus have the new coalition
