Yep, the NRA does the same thing. It sells product.

You just have to recognize it for what it is, and don't give in to the hype.

Australia instituted the one control that made a difference: a ban.

Our gun related deaths have dropped faster than Australia's since their ban.

That's the only thing you got out of that whole post?

Why aren't you asking the guy who originally posted it?

United States v. Cruikshank, 1875. The USSC ruled that the Second Amendment "was not intended to limit the powers of the State governments in respect to their own citizens" and "has no other effect than to restrict the powers of the national government". Thus the Second Amendment could not be appealed to as an individual right by a state's citizen.

Presser vs. Illinois, 1886. The Second Amendment only restrains the Federal government from regulating gun ownership, only individual states. Thus the Second Amendment could not be appealed to as an individual right by a state's citizen.

United States v. Miller, 1939. "In the absence of any evidence tending to show that possession or use of a "shotgun having a barrel of less than eighteen inches in length" at this time has some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia, we cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear such an instrument." In other words, the right to bear arms is specifically and manditorily tied to militia purposes, not individual rights.

In DC v. Heller, 2008 the Supreme Court told a blatant lie: ""The Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home." The Second Amendment says no such thing, and guarantees no such thing. The Second Amendment was a protection for STATES in the form of militias against the power of a Federal government. It even specifically mentions "STATE".

If the controls we have in place now weren't followed, what in the hell are more controls going to do?

If more guns are supposed to make us safe why is exactly the opposite true when the US is 4 percent of the worlds population yet we own 42 percent of all guns.

Well I don't know, why don't you subtract the violence that happens in the places that have gun control like you want, and answer your own question?

You really want a substantive discussion on it, I’m willing to have it. I can’t do it right now, but I’ll definitely get back on here and discuss it with you before the weekend is over.

Journal of American Medicine on Gun Law in Australia
at the bottom of conclusion "it is not possible to determine whether the change in firearm deaths can be attributed to the gun law reforms."

Where exactly do you think you’re above the “I don’t have time to discuss it right now.” remark I made to Roger? When I have time to sit and write something worth discussion, I’ll do it. Otherwise, we are tossing one liners and not trying at all.

You have a legit point, but it’s not nearly as poignant as you believe it is.

All of what you said is true. The fact that you are missing is that a deranged and well know psycho was able to legally buy 7 guns including the AR 15. The last point is as meaningful as you valid points. Curtaunilung our mass murder culture has to be comprehensive.

Probably not that you could comprehend.

See, what good is it for either of us to be a prick? Makes any actual discussion disappear in the name of being able to drop the best one liner.
