The car companies wouldn't have had to start building trash if they weren't forced to by Obama and Biden EPA mandates. We would have much more reliable engines. But they had to force themselves to go turbo, direct injection, active fuel management, piston rings made out of paper clips, etc. to conform. Then they had to blow major capital on failed EV pushes to build vehicles that few wanted.

We would still have engines we could trust. Not engines that snap camshafts running 75 on the interstate when a lifter sticks or a 10 speed transmission with tinker toy valves in the body fails and forces the trans into first gear or even lock it in forward gear and reverse.
