Can someone explain to me the end game on the tax returns?

Seriously, I’ve been trying to avoid politics for a while and I don’t understand what they are after. A nugget of a deal with him and a Russian company? Prove he’s not as rich as he says he is? Show that a rich man didn’t pay a lot in taxes?
Do they think after all the failures in trying to embarrass him thus far that this will somehow embarrass him?
Or do you think Trump is playing them? Let them focus on that and right before the election, he releases them to make them look more foolish than they already are?

Probably just like Barr & the Muller Report. The dems have subpoenaed Mnuchin; hold him in contempt when he doesn't comply. Wash, rinse, and repeat with each cabinet member and family member.

The AmazonPost would ironically run constant bitch stories about how few taxes Trump paid. Complex deals would be conflated with criminality. Charitable giving would be criticized. The Trump Organization's competitors in NYC and elsewhere would be significantly advantaged. Etc. Etc.
Bottomline: Dems cannot get the tax returns (legally). They won't get the tax returns (legally). Their biggest impediment is the public DGAS about Trump's tax returns. So telling Dems to pound sand only make Trump look better.

Perot was the outsider making strides but dropped out ahead of media pressure saying he was only paying about 2% to 4% in taxes per year. Americans are funny when the rich pay way less taxes than they do.
