...for trying to coerce Barr to commit a crime by unredacting Grand Jury testimony?
Barr needs to send Nadler a letter indicating that he will prosecute Nadler for trying to force him to commit a crime.

It’s a Democratic Party-wide conspiracy to compel him to commit a crime. Arrest them all.

It’s interesting though that when the DOJ was resisting Nunes’ fight for the release of information regarding an on-going investigation, many were calling for those in the DOJ to be arrested, despite the DOJ also raising valid legal and practical concerns.

Frankly, I think both are examples of hack politicians just being the partisan hacks that so many love when they are hacking it up on their side.

OK. And I’m sure someone is arguing the same thing about Barr, and I’m sure both arguments align perfectly (and conveniently) with one’s partisan views. Isn’t it possible that both are scum or that neither are scum?

Charge him with abuse of power...using his public office to harass for political means, or just for being a dumbazz liberal.

Nunes was asking for info unrelated to a Grand Jury investigation. DOJ could have permitted the underrated info to be viewed in a secure place, just like Barr.
Nadler is asking Barr to commit a crime. Nunez requested info which could be legally permitted to view.
Also, the DOJ was redacting info to cover up their own actions which looked questionable. They were covering up the truth.
Barr is covering up nothing.
These 2 situations are very different, if you have educated yourself to the facts.

Perhaps you can cite that?

I remember similar conversations re: Issa and Holder. Of course Holder subsequently became the first U.S. Attorney General in history to be held in both criminal and civil contempt. He was held, by a bipartisan 255–67 vote, in contempt by the House of Representatives. At that point, he probably should have been arrested.

If Nadler's tailor charges by the yard he'll be a millionaire in no time.

That’s exactly what they did, and Nunes didn’t even go. He sent (probably a good idea) Gowdy instead.

But they are accusing Barr of not allowing THEM access whatsoever:
quote:

"[T]he Committee needs to review the unredacted report, the underlying evidence, and associated documents so that it can ascertain the facts and consider our next steps," the report reads.
So what is specific crime is Nadler asking Barr to commit by requesting that the committee view the unredacted report?

Demanding illegal activity under threat of contempt to boot.

Barr is the most powerful lawman in the country. He can arrest anyone he pleases.

Unauthorized release of 6e Material.
While there seems to be some conflicts in circuit courts, at least 2 decisions have ruled that Congress as the authority to review it:
quote:

Relying on an expansive conception of Congress’ investigative authority, two courts have held that Congress has a “constitutionally independent legal right” to obtain documents in furtherance of “legitimate legislative activity” even if the documents disclose matters occurring before a grand jury. Yet other courts have criticized these decisions, sharply disagreeing with the conclusion that the rule of grand jury secrecy does not apply when Congress is the contemplated recipient of information.

It’s one thing to argue that Barr as the right to refuse their demands, it’s another thing to argue that the demands are inherently legal when multiple courts have said otherwise.

No sir!
Congress has the right to ask the Courts for authorized release of 6e material.
In this instance they have not done that.

Nadler's current request is for Barr's unauthorized release of 6e Material. That would constitute a crime. The Judicial Branch has complete say over whether release of such material can or will be authorized.
