Won't people in California just buy their cars in another state and drive them home?
Probably so. California doesn't like free market competition.

It really depends on how stupid California residents are. They’ll probably try and restrict sales so you can’t buy more than 20 gallons a week, then 10.
If they’re really stupid they do that with diesel too. That will be fun to watch

He is such a moron. Police, Fire and other emergency services will be shite. Many cops rent apartments how are they going to charge the patrol cars. Any one with a company car of any sort will need a charging station at home and some of them rent. ZERO forethought.

The big question is IF the California Electric Grid can support the influx of people plugging in their vehicles every night.
Simple answer...NO!
Hell, their power grid can't even sustain the demand they have RIGHT NOW. The people who keep voting in these clowns in CA who push this stuff are a special kind of stupid.

Even better is going to be watching their energy rates skyrocket as the result of increased demand. The low operating costs they brag about now will be a thing of the past. For a state that already can’t meet energy demands, it’s going to get really ugly

So a gov has the power to ban sales of products in his state?
So why isn't he banning sales of firearms?
This can never hold up legally, muchless the idiocy of trying to get everybody in an EV.
This is just him being virtuous knowing it can't happen realistically.
If subsequent gov's continue with this idiocy, the used car market is going to explode in value.
Middle class will be hammered.
