This is the moonshot for electric trucks. Can it drive for 11 hours

I doubt that will be done in the next 50 years given the complexity

Remember, like oil, the battery material is a limited resource and will likely be in very short supply given another 25 years of digging

2040 is a long way from now

It's possible that there will be a substantial supply of electric big rigs by then

It's also possible that the total cost of operating all EVs will be greatly reduced

The laws of physics don't change with time.

You hoping EV's will become so economical to make them remotely feasible is about as good as the dudes forecasting the next ice age in the 70's.

IE you don't know what the frick you are talking about.

EV's need a power source, and wind and solar ain't getting it done.

And the greenies have demonized Nuclear (the one energy source that actually makes sense).

There are some incredibly reliable sources who would disagree about your "peak oil" assertion.

Most importantly, the fact we continue to find and develop new fields, wells, and extraction methods as time goes on.

Is oil and gas as finite as lithium and copper? I'm willing to bet the opposite is true.

But it matters not, all the unlimited lithium in the world can do nothing to a battery that doesn't have a power source to feed and recharge it.

Moar utter stupidity from the left-wing wacko's.

So a few battery packs on an 18 wheeler is gonna haul an 80,000 lb load hundreds of miles?

AND that doesn't even include the weight of the truck, the trailer AND the battery packs.

The truck can weigh about 20,000 or more pounds and an empty trailer can weigh 10,000 lbs.

You are gonna need a battery pack as big as another 18 wheeler just to power it.

I know, Tesla blah-blah...

Oh BTW, it looks like the new Tesla battery, lithium iron phosphate, is flopping out.

Feel good euphemisms and woke BS cannot over come the laws of physics.

They have convinced themselves their feelings can alter reality.

I'm sure you're excited to know this will increase costs on poor black families in the name of saving them from whitey racist climates.

Hint, they could literally concrete the block of every truck in America and it wouldn't put a dent in the "man made carbon footprint." All you're accomplishing is making energy and goods more expensive. Making things more expensive for poor people does not help then in the slightest.

California recently banned independent truckers; all truck drivers must work for an actual trucking company. Nothing at all could go wrong with the supply chain here.
