I’m sure the Dems have super majorities in the legislature so it won’t matter if the governor is a Republican. Arnie tried to circumvent this with ballot initiatives and failed. California is permanently screwed and won’t be fixed any time soon.

This. Until they get enough conservatives into their legislature to push back against the leftist crazy, change will be minimal (if at all).

The dems rigged the electoral system so that it only allows the top two vote receiving candidates to move on to the general election. Regardless of party.

Having a jungle primary is not rigging an election system.

Louisiana's current "MAGA" Governor won the 2023 Gov's race outright in the jungle primary.

Even Cali voters are sick of Dems.

I wish.

It’s more a case of so many Dims splitting the vote that a scapegoat GOP governor will win and then have no power against a supermajority in the state houses.

1 needs to drop out so they don’t split the votes.

1 what? A republican is basically guaranteed right now at making the runoff. There’s a chance, though slim, that both republicans could be in the top 2 and you’d guarantee a GOP win. That goes away if one of them drops out.

On the Dem side, they need at least a couple to drop out to consolidate the vote so one of them gets into the top 2.

Err, you may want to watch Matt Mahan, the mayor of SamJose. He’s a moderate who has had success dealing with the homeless problem and fiscal issues.

He has a real shot to beat Newsome…

Yeah if a republican were to actually win, the california legislature would have them impeached and removed from office within 6 months.

No such thing as a moderate Democrat. He'll be just as crazy as the rest.
