ANOTHER SCHWING and a miss by the progtards.
What an unmitigated shite show this is!
quote:
Attorney General Bill Barr told Fox News on Tuesday that it was former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team who asked the Justice Department to send Mueller a letter telling him to keep his upcoming testimony to House lawmakers "within the boundaries" of the public version of his Russia probe report. The letter provoked criticism from Democrats ahead of Wednesday’s highly anticipated hearing, with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler calling it “incredibly arrogant.” Asked by Fox News why the Monday letter was sent, Barr said Mueller’s staff asked the department for guidance ahead of the hearing.
quote:
“At his press conference, Bob had said that he intended to stick with the public report and not go beyond that,” Barr said in an interview. “And in conversations with the department, his staff was reiterating that that was their position and they asked us for guidance in writing to explain or to tell them [what] our position was. So we responded in writing. The department sent the guidance that they requested." Asked directly if it was Mueller who asked for the letter, Barr replied, “Yes.”

I was reading comments about this on /r/politics and all of them were saying this is not true and Barr is lying

I said it in the other thread: this smells to me like Nadler and Co. were trying to suborn perjurious testimony from Mueller (who pretty clearly doesn’t WANT to testify anyway). Mueller needs to cover his arse, so he asked for the letter.

Downvoted by mistake. I believe this is precisely what is happening.

Mueller doesn't have to testify.
He hasn't been subpoenaed has he? If he has, just ignore it like everyone else does.
I mean, Mueller stated at his presser that the report would be his testimony.

This actually affects both sides. Republicans can now not ask questions leading to how this investigation was started and whom was selected to help Mueller.
Question like...
When did you know there was no collusion?
Why was your special council full of Hilary supporters?
Why was Steel Dossier falsely created to start an investigation in Trump?
All he will be able to answer is questions answered in the report, if the question does not reflect the report he will be able to simply say " I am not obligated to answer that"
However, democrats will be able to ask him and word it perfectly for him to say a sound bite that makes democrats think Mueller wants him to be in jail.

Just like we saw at his press briefing, Honest Bobby is one scared little bitch. He knows he's vulnerable in so many areas.
What are you trying to hide, Honest Bobby?

This is where I’m at. It may protect Meuller from the GOP more than anything.
He doesn’t have to answer why he ignored things like FISA abuse.
Limiting his testimony to the report is BS. It pretty much guarantees Trump will be the main topic.
Taxpayer money was spent on the investigation. We have a right to know how it was conducted and why decisions were made to ignore exculpatory evidence.
Not sure why Barr granted this. It’s a win for the DS.

And Clark14 said yesterday the DOJ was admitting they had something to hide. SAD!
Clark may be lower T than Low-TBoy, if that's even possible.

One kinda former member of the DOJ has a lot to hide during his testimony tomorrow. Can't wait for the Repubs to have their moment with Ol' Honest Bob!

The democrats are in a really sad state right now. Every attempt to get Trump on anything and everything has fallen apart and, instead of seeing the obvious right in front of their face, they think everyone is lying.

Of course it is...it was based on a heap of lies and is still being cultivated by a bunch of partisan hack Democrats. I'd be more shocked it is wasn't becoming more of a shite-show.
