Sorry, but this hasn't been quoted enough, and this should put BuzzFeed totally out of business where their Head Editor basically- no that's too light of a word, decisively answers that they're nothing but a bunch of liars and will engage in lies when the facts don't meet his narrative. Here's the quote:

quote:

We are now in an era when you have to engage in false statements.

IMO, this may be the single most despicable and untrustworthy thing ever uttered by a member of the so-called "press". It's worse than anything Dan Rather or Bryan Williams said.

Really what Ben Smith is saying is "yes we're a bunch liars, we never tell the truth when it's inconvenient to us, we make up lies when it could possibly advantageous to us, and we'll frick with the American people and just feed them propaganda."

He should not only immediately step down for such a statement, but everyone no matter what their political angle should refuse to engage BuzzFeed. He's pretty much said we will totally misrepresent you to look as good and bad as we damn well please.

This is the most terrifying thing ever said by a member of "the press" and the whole world should demand his resignation for doing such. Otherwise, if we don't hold counts like this accountable, our media is totally fricked if it isn't already.

Well that will make the defamation cases easier.

Yeah a lot of Trump bashers bristled when he alluded to making it easier to come after the press for false statements...this should be a great example of why he had a good point.

In order for the people to know the truth, we may have to tell them lies.

Pro Tip for Mr Smith:

ORWELL'S "1984" WAS NOT AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

Yeah, but we have to flay people like Ben Smith alive and end his career as well as everyone who works for BuzzFeed as an example that this shite isn't going to fricking fly anymore.

He's just saying out loud what everyone in the mainstream media thinks. Pure propaganda. The best thing about Trump is his ability to make every one of them look like complete fools. Even the so called respected ones like Tapper.

Fortunately in the interview, he was somewhat overtalked by Chuck Todd, and he really missed an opportunity to rape him in the arse. But when I listened to it this afternoon, I heard it clearly, and I'm not letting this lying twat get away with it within my power. Spreading it to every forum I can find, and fortunately people have already taken notice of his horrible intentions like at the Guardian.

Oh, I'm sure, but now we have an open opportunity to rip a guy's heart out and sacrifice him to the Democracy Gods. My goal is for him to be eating ramen in 2 years or sharing a cell with Anthony Weiner. I want to make an example out of this twat.

So how would you rank the spin of BuzzFeed vs. that of the DNC?

(1-10; ten is total lack of credibility)

BuzzFeed: 9.5
DNC: 8.5
RNC: 4.5

I've heard from anonymous sources that he has sex with underage boys. He is also on video saying racial slurs. These same sources also tell me he regularly attends klan rallies and kills puppies for fun.

See how this works. It goes both ways.

I can't wait for Michael Cohen to sue Buzzfeed and Ben Smith individually.

But others defended BuzzFeed, including Glenn Greenwald, who broke Edward Snowden’s revelations about the National Security Agency’s mass spying programmes. “BuzzFeed did an important journalistic service by ending the speculation … and letting everyone see what a farcical document this actually was,” he told the BBC.

If they had put the information out there and flat out stated "we think this is nonsense but it is circulating around the government," then maybe I could believe this. They didn't.

I disagree with Greenwald on a number of things, but he is consistent and, IMO, reliable.
