The same left wingers in here making excuses for Biden would be raking Trump over the coals if this was happening during his tenure. They haven't a shred of sincerity or honor, they are simply putrid individuals. Sickening and gross

How does

You disagree that the lifting of the ban incentivized increased production?
That has nothing to do with where domestic refiners sourced their crude.

A couple of companies found away around the export ban which included condensate. The vast majority of what is being exported is not actually crude oil but condensate anywhere else in the world. Congress, with legislation, redefined certain condensate to crude oil when it banned exports (except from California and Alaska) in the 1970's.
Refiners couldn't use Eagle Ford "crude" without it first going through a condensate splitter, to get rid of the light ends which clog up the crude tower in a refinery, reducing throughput considerably.

Wait am I reading that right? They banned exports that they formally allowed when he was VP?

quote:No. Someone said all presidents have been equally unable to ever affect oil pricing. He pointed to the largest decline being between 2014 and 2017, apprently without being aware that the oil export ban was lifted in 2015, as passed by Congress and signed by Obama.

Biden started this shite the 1st day of his becoming president.

“Affect” is the verb.
Of course the President can affect gas prices. This President is driving oilfields and oil pipelines out of business.

On the other hand, every president since Reagan has done exactly this.
Just here to downvote and tell you you're stupid.
I would imagine, based on your terrible take, that you wouldn't be able to comprehend more of a response than this.

banks are hostile to loosing money everytime the price of oil falls after companies borrower money to increase production when prices are high. The bank i work for cut our exposure to the oil and gas industry back in 2015. politics aside it's just business.

That was before we produced as much oil as we can now. This is a government-created artificial shortage.

Both Enterprise and Kinder Morgan found a loophole in the export ban. Any change afterwards did little to widen the exports. What is exported is actually condensate but only legally called crude oil because of dumbass congress critters. It can only be used in refining after being blended with heavy crude. Globally it is classed as condensate by refiners, not crude oil.
Before the loophole was found condensate from wet natural gas was clearly classed as condensate. Uber light crude of the similar chemical assay was classed as crude instead of condensate ONLY because of Federal Law.

Before this, Bay Ltd (a very major industrial construction company joined at the hip with Valero and ChevronPhillips) was making bank building tank farms to store this light stuff in with little market for it.

But presidents do completely control viruses and governors.
Y'all see how that orange bastard forced Cuomo to put those covid patients into nursing homes?

The only point you need to accept is that the President, no matter which one can have direct or indirect influence upon the pricing of oil & gas. To pretend they do not and totally out of their control is ignorant and short sighted.

If you recall, Obama said we were running out of oil and to expect $6.00 per gallon gasoline. Obviously, Obama or anyone in his Regime didn’t have the brains or knowledge of the vast oil reserves we had. Trump listened to the real scientists to find the Truth.
