GWB did a LOT of visits to military and their families that you never heard about because the cameras weren't rolling. Whatever flaws the man had he was genuine when it came to that stuff.

He's a decent guy, apparently very intelligent, but very average leader.

I don’t know why the Bush family would think that anyone would want them or that their candidate could win a presidential election.

the level of apathy by most folks under the age of 70 would be incredible.

Well I'm going to take this as a good sign. Why?
If the powerbrokers are going backwards and trying to resurrect the Bush family to promote their agenda then the bench is pretty much devoid of talent/lackeys at present.

There is no line drawn between Bush and his people and the DNC. Everyone in the Bushes administration have crossed over to the Democrats.

It appears that Vance will soon be taking more shots from the Democrats and old RINO class with an attempt to make it appear the Republicans disfavor Vance.

The former Bush official also predicted that “there will be a big open field within the Republican Party” for the 2028 presidential race, according to the outlet.

2028 will come down to Vance - Rubio, with them ending up running mates on the Republican ticket. Just over one year into Trump's 2nd term and they both continue to hit the mark.

Steele shite the bed a long time ago!

As a lifelong conservative that has voted for almost 40 years, I don't give a rip what Michael Steele has to say about anything. I still have a "Bush-Cheney Farm Team" bumper sticker on my garage fridge but have no interest in going back. That might have been what was required back then, but it isn't now.

George W. Bush was the worst Republican President I've seen in my lifetime.
He started out okay but somewhere he turned into a RINO and resembled Obama a lot!
Now he and his family all suck up to Democrats, especially the Obama-Nations.

And I did. Voted for him 2000 and 2004 enthusiastically.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. The alternatives were even worse.

Worse is an understatement, and they are both still alive.
