your question changed from when you initially engaged me.
You went from asking "why not hit the port?" to asking about the legality of lethal force in this case. Two very different questions, but maybe the former was rhetorical and I missed something?

Of course you do so you can argue about idiotic statutes and needless red tape specifically created to stifle limited government
Not following you there, Chief. I'm for limited government. The federal government has only those powers granted to it by the Constitution and statutes written in accordance with it.
Using our military and our tax dollars to kill probable criminals hundreds of miles away from the US seems like UNLIMITED government. I just want to see the statutes that authorize that expansion.
This isn't partisan for me. I can't think of any military actions carried on without congressional authorization that I thought were legal.

It's coming... and "poisoning sea life poor people depend on for food."

I definitely am not showing this video to Rog and Bunk at our weekly Bad Orange Man Narco Boat Bros potluck dinner next week.
Not gonna' lie, I'm upset I have not received an invite to this.

We do try to be inclusive and accommodate everyone. But I handed out Ruth Bader Ginsburg tote bags last week and I only had a couple dozen and I didn’t have enough to give all the potential new members.I’ll make sure you get directions for the next one though.

With that amount of fuel on board (must be 1000 gals), I’m surprised there would be a splinter big enough to cling to after the boom.

The "Venezuela is flooding our country with poison" lie mimics the way Commies push their propaganda.
It may not be partisan, but it appeals to collectivists.

Poisoning the whales after the imbecile democrats killed them with offshore idiotic windmills.
The sea turtles on the seashore hatching will get a few billion dollars to study their drug addictions. The sharks are filing their own lawsuit to pay for rehab.
Comey is suing because he cant find seashells they are all stuck offshore.

25 x 6 = 150 gal per hour.

I'm pointing out that, despite all the rhetoric, drug smuggling is a CRIMINAL matter. The Administration knows this, but is choosing to treat it like a matter of war so it can selectively blow up boats near Venezuela to intimidate Maduro.
Why aren't we blowing up boats that are unambiguously headed for the United States?

Actually, Vacherie, thanks for the conversation. My dumb arse just realized that the Administration wants to keep the legality of our actions re Venezuela ambiguous.
The uncertainty gives more leverage with Maduro. Sorry for wasting our time in trying to solve what isn't meant to be solved.
Thanks for the discussion.

Oh. I thought they were. That’s what I based my estimated fuel capacity on.

To travel one hour, they would need 900 lbs of fuel. They're not going too far.

Also add in geo politics of BRICS while the EU cock blocks the Ukraine peace deal.

What deflection?
The continued argument of why we don’t strike the coast a sovereign nation in the same way of unflagged boats in international waters since it’s the same thing.
You are trying to equate two things that are not equitable. No matter the fluff you attempt… the two are not equitable. Cannot be and will not be.
