PSA since I just figured it out via grok (x posts haven’t rendered here on my iPhone in quite some time, they used to):

quote:

Prompts:

Is there a way to get img urls from photos on X that resolve to just the photo and not the parent x post ?

Can this be done on an iPhone from the x app, or needs to be from a browser?

Grok:

**Mostly needs a browser (Safari is easiest).**

The native X app on iPhone does **not** give you a clean “Copy image address” option for the pure `pbs.twimg.com` link the way a desktop browser does.

### What you can do in the X app - Tap the photo to open it full-screen. - Long-press or use the share icon ? you can usually **Save Image** (or Save Photo). This saves the photo to your Photos app, but it does **not** give you the direct image URL, and you can’t easily force the highest-resolution (`name=orig`) version.

Sharing the post only copies the **post** link (the `x.com/.../status/...` URL), not the image itself.

### How to get the pure image URL on iPhone Use Safari (or Chrome):

1. In the X app, open the post ? Share ? **Copy link**.
2. Open **Safari** and paste the post link.
3. Tap the photo to open the full viewer.
4. Long-press the image.
5. Choose **Open Image in New Tab** (or similar)
. 6. In the new tab, tap the address bar and copy the URL.

It should start with https:// pbs.twimg.com/media/...

You can then edit it to request the largest version by changing `name=large` (or whatever is there) to `name=orig`.

Helps to keep a logged in tab open in your browser on your phone to paste the x posts link into.
