2.0 rating system... flood zones matter little. rates property location based on theoretical risk. Increases can be nominal or severe...

Current flood program has lost over $20 billion so far. Either increase the insurance pool or increase the rate…or cut back benefits.
Something has to give.

Current program has been either robbed or vastly mismanaged. Go look at the income to outcome. A newly investor couldve kept this shite afloat

increase the insurance pool
this is what is necessary.
if you carry a federally backed loan mortgage, you must carry a flood policy.

frick that. I'm not carrying flood insurance on property that wont see water unless half the earth is flooded

Exactly. Why should everyone else continue to subsidize those who choose to live in a flood plain?

Punish everyone for the retards who knowingly live in coastal flood plains. Sounds reasonable.

Yeah because thats the only place that floods

dude no, just fricking no
this is really simple
privatize it
no fema bailout or other shite after the deadline
if you flood and dont have insurance oh fricking well. too bad.
i dunno why otherwise conservative people fall into this trap.

Increases are huge. Large increases are thousands of dollars and small increase are $200-$300. Louisiana is getting slammed
Makes no sense to base flood insurance premiums on the risk calculation for a particular area if you are going to still have flood zones
Why can an x flood zone rate be $3000 and an AE flood zone rate be $3000 but one is required and one not when the perceived risk to insure both properties is the same according to rates

They have private flood companies, just have to make sure a lender will accept them before going with them

Knew a broad that was in a 100year or 500 year flood zone, so the insurance wasn't all that high.
Collected, and profited, twice in 5 years.

Yeah because by volume those other areas even cause a blip on the radar

And, you must by ObamaCare to pay for those who refused to work and make unhealthy or risky choices...like being fat, smoking, or buying a house in a flood zone or buying a house on the beach.

it should all be private
like mentioned....screaming about increasing the pool for a government program is no different that someone screaming for everyone to have to have medical insurance like obomacare to increase the pool.
but one is ok, the other is not because it affects you right?
again the conservative position is to privatize it all. The government should have nothing to do with it and should not provide bail out for those that do not have it. period.
if a lender wants to require it cool...if not...thats cool too. they are private companies and should be able to access the risk of a private transaction.
if anyone is screamming about increasing the pool or offering any solution other than privatize the whole thing.....well they are not conservative.
either government is the problem or its the solution.....you dont get to pick and choose when this holds true. you have to believe its one or the other and your positions should be based off of that.

and theres some possibilities regarding melting greenland which is a mile thick ice over most of it or the antarctic.
greenland is big as Texas so its like today in usa. somewhere in the lower 48 its a new cold record for today and simultaneously a new hot for this day record.
but the trend in western greenland is millions of gallons of meltwater.
if you must live by the ocean please dont use my tax dollars to rebuild.
