The local political mafia have some tax measures on the December ballot and are counting on non-existent voter turnout to get more $$$$ to piss away - while promising all sorts of pie in the sky infrastructure improvements.

You'd think that they'd be worried that the disaster that was/is the COA would sour voters to any new taxes...

But, alas, TPTB are almost certain to get their $$$ and frick everyone else.

St. George cannot come soon enough.

The mayor's constituents will vote in droves for higher taxes because they think it's revenge for white folks.

Both of the tax proposals on the 12/8 ballot are parish wide taxes not City of Baton Rouge taxes.

I'm voting NO to both.....

Louisiana can't survive as a high tax state. What's the incentive to live here over places like TX, TN or FL?

My daughter has 6 years of school left. If we make it that long we are out when she's done.

1. Louisiana is a low tax state all taxes considered.

2. The road improvements are spelled out in detail and are all needed, IMO.

3. My wife and I are early voting this week and will vote YES for the road improvements tax.

4. We also signed the St George petition both times now and this tax/road improvements will greatly help the area that could become St George.

Together Louisiana is a socialist/Marxist organization pretending to be a legit advocacy group. They promote high taxes and a large welfare state

Louisiana is a low tax state (percent of income paid in state and local taxes) We are 45th and Texas is 46% though our rates are almost the same.

From the BR Business Report...

quote:

Critics challenged the lack of a definitive timeline for some of the plan’s regional projects, such as roadway improvements in Central. Broome defended the plan, saying a program manager will be tasked with drafting a publicly accessible timeline after the tax plan’s passage.
