When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

I live in Germany so not that hard to do ,but the bulk of their money comes from TV Revenue. So you don't watch advertisers pay less and their revenue goes down. Not going to the game takes money out of the owners pocket.

To expand on that, if advertiser's and sponsor's products take a hit, the reason why, becomes obvious pretty fast. Advertising in sports time slots will be clear poison. It will help speed up the effects.

guess “politics” will be LSU fans’ excuse for leaving games at halftime this year.

No, it will be the reason we won’t attend.

Six months ago I would have laughed at this thread. But now I'm out. I'm not going to make a big deal out of it or beat my chest, but I'm damn sure not going to support it anymore.

That includes LSU. I'm out.

I'm really hoping people stick to their guns on "watching".

The stadiums certainly won't be packed...so that's a hit on revenue.

They're hoping that would mean more people will watch...which I hope doesn't happen

I gave up NBA years ago ... gave up NFL last year ... and after a 50 year relationship with NASCAR, I will no longer support them in any way after their noose stunt last month ...

The only sports I'm currently anticipating to continue watching are college football and PGA ....but I won't hesitate to cut them loose if they get "political" ...

Damn. I really feel for you guys. I can’t imagine suffering through the Shula years only to be forced to stop watching once we were back on top. Seriously that sucks.

Knock yourself out on boycotts; I encourage your choice to make statement.

The above quote stood out to me as odd, though. Isn't one of the things you always hear about coaches (at least in ranks below pro sports) how they teach and mold young men and women, how sports are good for kids because it teaches them lots of lessons and values? Those things aren't solely "inside the boundary lines."

Would that include looting and burning buildings too? Asking for a friend.

One of these football leagues need to go head to head with the NFL and cut any player that kneels .

No; I would defend folks' right to express themselves non-violently (i.e. boycotts of companies). Im not sure how this came up, though.

I'm not boycotting. Boycotting implies that you will come back, at some point. I'm done with all of them permanently. There are better things to do with a weekend.
