The same page states plainly that "Candidates must be Boston residents, immigrants."
That means native-born US Bostonians are not eligible to apply.

The current fall 2026 course runs September 21 through December 5, with participants selected from applications that were due August 17.

Last month, Wu wrote to private Boston parking garage and lot owners urging them not to lease space to ICE after the Department of Homeland Security issued a procurement notice seeking roughly 249 "surge parking" spaces near Boston-area ICE facilities.

DHS called Wu "unhinged" and accused her of "hunting down private property owners.

The story was surfaced in a September 26 Substack post by investigative reporter Natalie Winters, who reported that the program launched Community Action Project grants of up to $10,000 in 2025 for community organizations partnering with immigrant participants.

Winters also named two past graduates who have gone on to advocate for granting driver's licenses to undocumented residents and rent control.
Boston has not publicly disclosed the total annual spend on Immigrants Lead Boston or the Community Action Project grants.
The 7th cohort course wraps December 5, 2026.
