The reason the Democrats have fought the wall so hard is because they know it will dramatically reduce illegal immigration.

Immigration is the defining issue for our country. If The US doesn't get it under control the US as we know it will die in another generation.

I'm sure the fact that a 10 mile walk in either direction gets you around the wall accounts for much of that 20%.

I'd try to cross too if I were born over there.

Assuming you mean coming into the U.S. for good (if possible) to try to make a better life for you and yours, why wouldn't you go through the legal avenues of the citizenship process?

C'mon man, we all know border walls don't work...

Several folks on here have told us that.

Huge border wall project is under way in the Rio Grande sector(the most southern tip of Texas, around Brownsville).

Plus another yuge 70 mile border wall project is being geared up in the Laredo, TX area.

Its all state-of-the-art: 30 foot bollards, 10 foot deep concrete footings, high-speed access roads, stadium type lighting, ground sensors to detect tunneling, drones, blimp-like observation balloons that observe the border 24-7, 150 foot clearings...plus many other features.

Obviously that would be preferred, but in many cases desperate people aren't willing to wait the years that it can take to immigrate legally. It is not uncommon for an individual to cross illegally while other family begins the legal process. It makes sense considering how much more labor is worth in the US than in Mexico imo.

Do you support a welfare nation or open borders?

You do realize you can't have both, right? The math does NOT work...

The Berlin wall cut border crossing from over 3 million people in two years before it was built to a couple thousand people over 20 years

Walls work

Walls work even better when you enforce them

Also, do you support illegal aliens with coronavirus entering the US?
Forcing illegal coronavirus carrying aliens to cross the border at the proper locations will help protect all Americans and legal immigrants.

People are supposed to have the proper vaccinations prior to entering the US. How can we tell who has been properly vaccinated when they cross through the desert?
