No offense but you're an idiot.
The 150b market will not close down regardless of what you do to the border. It's demand driving the market.
If you had ever taken a college econ class, you would understand this

was very clear. Do you think the Mexican cartels are not limited by a secure border?

What does economics tell you about a 150b market?
What does the drug laws in Dubai or Malaysia tell you about demand?

This isn’t the argument you moron. I asked if a secure border would limit the cartel?

You're fantasizing about hardcore authoritarian Muslim countries. That will never happen here
We already have a massive demand, it's not going anywhere

It is. You're too stupid to understand it
You can destroy mexico, and the drug trade will not skip a beat.
In economics, where there is a demand and money, there will be suppliers.

Demand can be curtailed, and the cartels can be destroyed ad infinitum.

Not within our current Constitutional Republic.
You can destroy all the cartels you want, and suppliers (domestic and foreign) will pop up overnight.
Youre in the wrong country bubba. This one values freedom over security

This conversation was limited to the MEXICAN cartels. How does that continue to fly way over your head? You dumb idiot.

Ahhh. The original question. Finally you agree it can be done. That took a loooooong time.

No, it is not.
youre just incapable of thinking beyond Mexican cartels

How many American citizens lives/retired or have second homes in Mexico? How many goes there for spring break? How cruise ships and resorts that Americans visit. You just put a target on all these people's head.

Sure. Then they'll become Canadian, Chinese and American cartels.
The drug trade wouldnt skip a beat. But you loving to spend govt money would blow billions in this failed attempt.
Posted on 12/23/24 at 3:03 pm to BgJag
Yeah that would have to be a consideration if you were to take my more precise targeted approach. The best way to do this imo would be to pre emptily put out notices to get out of all of South America and give people time to act. In the meantime activate literally all of JSOC that can be spared and take out all you can in a single night or 2-3 day operation and leave them absolutely scared scattered and leaderless. The follow up would need to be split between ensuring protection of any American citizens foreign or domestic, and nightly operations put together via target packages for delta force, army rangers, and perhaps the seals if you need them. We did this nightly in Afghanistan and it’s extremely effective.

And then you destroy those that pop up. All the while the border is locked down completely, until the Mexican government collapses, or they participate in doing away with the trafficking, both drug and human.

Right. But your freedom and rights end where they infringe on someone else's rights. The non druggies have had their rights trampled for generations now. Whether from criminal illegals making them victims of crime, or simply driving down wages.

Right. Our Constitution just simply prohibits us from defending our borders
it prevents you from applying your Muslim penalties to users.
Your Muslim authoritarian dream cannot be accomplished here due to constitutional protections.

Making drugs legal doesn't work any better
You have no facts here because we've never tried it. Portugal has done this to mostly positive effect.

The way we do it is a waste of time and money, because judges won't hand down the kind of sentences needed to keep the streets clean.
We already have the world's largest prison state. You want to make it bigger?

Higher prices result in fewer people being able to afford the product. It's a universal truth.
Ah. Something we agree on. So when the price goes up, there will be an exponential increase in crime to cover said costs.

Closing the border, wrecking the cartels, and locking traffickers and dealers up, is prevention.
No. It's shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. You can't stop the illegal drug trade. You can't stop people from being addicts. Prohibition has never worked anywhere in the history of the world. It won't work here and it won't work this time. It's insanity.

I already told you I did not opine on the war on drugs. I asked you a very direct question about the border and Mexican cartels. My first post to you in this thread. Would you like me to re-post it?
Here it is:

You think the border is the limiting factor?

Never say never. There are already some majority Muslim areas of the country pushing for Sharia law in their towns.

Youre in the wrong thread bubba.
The discussion we are having has to do with how futile it is to wipe out cartels.
